Champagne Cocktails: 50 Cork-Popping Concoctions and Scintillating Sparklers (50 Series) Hardcover – October 15, 2013

I originally ordered this as a gift. I found many of the cocktails a bit dry (vs sweet and fruity) and complicated for the intended recipient. (Think Campari, aperol, punt e mes, various bitters, 4+ ingredients in most recipes, lots of details about specific types of bubbly...) For my gift, "The Bubbly Bar: Champagne and Sparkling Wine Cocktails for Every Occasion" turned out to be a better choice. That said, this book is to my taste. My husband and I have been enjoying it!

Very good book for getting ideas to use sparkling wines and champagne. Nice pictures. Includes "bubbly" basics and 50 recipes from a simple mimosa to much more elaborate cocktails.

good recipes, i just was looking for recipes made with only champagne, some of these have hard alcohol in them too.

Bob Dylan once said, "I don't like champagne". Well, I agree with Bob on most major issues, but here he is dead wrong. I'd imagine if he reads this fantastic book he will fall in love with the bubble juice in seconds. I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves champagne and to anyone like Bob, who don't yet know they like champagne. I have a tendency to ramble, so if you want to stop reading and go make yourself The Class of the Race (page 49) right now I would not be offended. In fact, I most likely won't ever know if you had stopped reading this. The recipes are all fascinating and the stories that accompany are thoughtful and funny. Who's Felix Kir you ask? Well, I read the recipe for the Kir Royale (I wonder what they call it in America), which is very French and found out he was the mayor of Dijon, France (presumably where they make all the mustard). I know you'd like to skip the first chapter and get right to the mixing and drinking, but that would be a terrible mistake. The Bubbly Basics are a great precursor to making any cocktails, not just the ones that contain champagne. So, buy this book, read it, then drink some champagne cocktails. I can only assume the recipe for The American Champagne Cocktail will be in the sequel?

a nice selection of champange based cocktails anyone could make,ranging from the basic to a bit more special, nice to try out .
