Firestone ( 2168 Air-Rite Air Command II Heavy Duty Air Compressor Kit w/Dual Pneumatic Gauge (WR17602168)

Bought this to run my airbags in my truck. Install went pretty easy, and it seemed to have plenty of hose for my application. System ran well for the summer, however when fall/winter hit (Wisconsin), suddenly it started blowing fuses constantly. I tracked the problem to the check valve. whenever the weather would drop below freezing, the check valve would freeze and cause a voltage surge back to the fuse and would blow the fuse. If you plan to use in a warm climate, go for it. if you are up north, this may not be the best option.

The only complaint I have is there is nowhere to install the air cannister, but I will make it work. Once I install new bumper I will have a place to mount it. I have this setup on 2 other trucks and its great and suggest getting this model if you want full control of your rear suspenion. It makes it easy to load and unload trailer with the amount of lift you get from it. On the tank I used a 5 gal tank from Horbour freight for more volume, but this works in most cases just fine.

If you buy this kit you might want to get the firestone universal mounting kit,amazon sells it but they did not recommend when I baught my compresser kit ended up getting mine from etrailer for the same price as amazon.Just will have to wait another week before I can install the unit.It is a no drill kit clamps the compresser and tank right to the frame.Also run your air lines to your air bags first then use the air line left to run from compressor and switch.

bought this in December 2019 had installed in March worked great for a few trips but now compressor won't initiate? Checked all wiring...I'm not happy. Don't know how or who to contact to get repaired or replace.

I put this on my new 2007 crew cab duramax along with the air bag leveling kit and it was the best thing I ever did for my pull rig.
