Q: Will this up my preasure enough to pump the water 8' up to the second floor of my house? i'm bringing water from a water tank

The amount of pressure is related to your pump output pressure. With a pressure tank, the pressure is limited to the pressure cutoff of the pressure switch. With the water booster device, it runs as long as there is a flow, so the pump pressure is the eventually maxed out. This ordinarily gives a higher pressure than the air tank and, once the pump pressurizes the house line, a more consistent pressure than the tank, which is cycling on and off by pressure in the tank. (i.e high pressure when the tank ids pumped up and then pressure falls after switch cuts off pump until the low pressure causes the pump to turn back on.) The only small problem is that if you have a long run of pipe, the booster switch must sense the flow, cut on the pump and then the pump will build up pressure in the pipe. That can take a bit of time and the longer the pipe, the longer that will take. Once pressurized, the pressure remains nearly steady.
