So yes, the number of situations where a wooden bowtie is appropriate are...not common. However in those circumstances, this gift set is in a league of its own. The price for the tie, lapel, cufflinks and a pocket square is extremely reasonable, and can pretty much guarantee whomever this is purchased for has nothing like it. Absolutely worth it.
