Extremely Accurate, Solid Build, and Perfect for 3D Printing Work
The iGAGING Absolute Origin 0โ6" Digital Caliper has quickly become one of my most reliable tools. The accuracy is spotโon, and the measurements stay consistent thanks to the absolute origin feature โ no constant zeroing like cheaper calipers. The stainless steel construction feels sturdy and smooth, and the slide action is precise without any wobble. The IP54 rating is a nice bonus, keeping dust and splashes from interfering with the electronics. I also love the SPC/USB output port, which makes it easy to log measurements directly into software when Iโm working on detailed projects. Switching between inch, metric, and fractional modes is quick and intuitive. For anyone doing 3D printing, woodworking, machining, or detailed hobby work, this caliper is a fantastic upgrade. Itโs accurate, durable, and feels like a professionalโgrade tool at a great price. Now I just need to learn how to use my CAD software to be able to create more projects for me to 3D print. Made a few projects and this Caliper really helped making project simpler. And everything fit perfect because of the accurate measurements.

Absolute Origin Digital Caliper is an Absolute bargain!
I purchased this item thinking it would not be as good a quality as the product description said but I was wrong. The thing was well packaged and functions exactly as described. The plastic case is relatively sturdy and I expect it will protect it just fine. I have used it several times and checked it against other instrument readings and it is always dead on. I have only had it a few days, so not a lot of use yet, but I am very happy with it. For the price, I think it is a great tool. It is easy to hold, easy to use, easy to read, easy to zero. All of that is fine as long as the accuracy is there and it certainly seems to be there. It came with an extra battery which was a nice plus. I can't image it using a lot of power so I think one battery should last almost forever! BUT, when it goes out, I have a replacement (if it will still be good months down the road!). If it uses batteries faster than that, then I may have to amend this review. So, mark me down as very satisfied and pleased.

Precise, Poor Case Foam
This caliper appears well made and is a good value for the price. Weighty in the hand with very sharp points on the caliper tips. Out of the box it read "0" when closed. Easy to use, it activates as soon as it's operated. Display legibility is good and the size is adequate. A backlight on the display would be a great upgrade. Battery life is yet to be seen but 2 are included and they are a standard easy-to-find battery. Case & foam are poor. The points of calipers will snag on the cutout as it's pulled out of the box. And on day 2 the cutout portion of the foam detached due to the points catching on it. Not a deal-breaker but annoying. A better thought out home for the tool is needed. Also the case "could" unintentionally open as it lacks a secure closure clasp. I wouldn't trust this case to be thrown around in a box or bag. The thumb wheel has play in it but it's probably an intentional part of the design where the wheel is disengaged when the calipers are opened or closed without using the wheel. Overall a pretty good tool. Made in China.

Great budget digital caliper
I have several of these in my garage by the lathe and in my reloading room. Good quality digital caliber, especially for the price. Will wirelessly connect to your computer for working in spreadsheets, etc.

Is it as good a Mitutoyo? Read on.
Even though I just getting started in machining, I have a long history with metrology. I got these out of a desire to move to the digital age. LOL I have several pairs of calipers, from multiple brands. I have 3 Vernier calipers (1 Mitutoyo, 1 Aerospace, and 1 Mauser), 2 Dial Calipers (1 Aerospace and 1 Mitutoyo) and a couple of randoms in metric. First Impression and build quality: The first thing that strikes me is the gravity in this ting. You pick it up and you are holding a tool with heft. In my mind, that's a good thing. I have have held (and used) cheap, poorly made digital calipers. These aren't them. By a long shot. These feel good in the hand. The display is large and clear enough to read easily. Something that my failing eyes really appreciate. The edges along the scale are broken so it doesn't feel like you are going to get cut. My tastes would have like a tiny bit more, but if you want or need that kind of feel, there are "better' ones on the market where you pay for that sort of thing. Accuracy: Good enough for the girls I go out with. I measured them against a set of feeler gages, gage blocks and 1" through 5" standards. Without fail they measured dead nuts on, and always returned to zero. I was very impressed, as I figured I would eventually get a reading that was .0005" off at some point. Nope. The jaws are very precisely ground and I could find no passage of light between them along the entire length when they are closed. Remember, calipers are machinists approximators, if you have something that is critical, you need to mic it. Final thoughts: They aren't Mitutoyo's or Starrett's. If you want those, then spend 3x the price. You will get a somewhat nicer feeling tool but I don't think you will find anything more accurate though. I decided to save the difference and buy more tools to add to my collection. As a PS to iGaging and to other manufacturers. how about a led back lit LCD display with a rechargeable battery? That IMHO would be a nice upgrade for ageing eyes and would eliminate having to have the right battery on hand when it needs replacing.

Incredibly Accurate
This is a very nice set of calipers. I went with the 6 inch ones. They are made out of nice stainless steel and feel plenty durable. I used to have a cheap pair of plastic ones, but they broke so i wanted to get something that wouldn't break the bank, but higher quality than the ones i owned before. The main thing i want to share is just how accurate these Calipers are. I was trying to think of what to test them on, then i remembered that i have a pair of accurate 1, 2, 3 Blocks and decided to use them to test the accuracy of the calipers. As you can see from the pictures, they read 1.0000 on the 1-Inch side, 2.0000 on the 2-Inch side and 3.0005 on the 3-Inch side. So they are more than accurate enough for most tasks. There isn't really much more to say about them.

This tool has a very smooth feel while measuring fine measurements
I purchased this electronic caliper to take the measurements of one of my bass guitars so I could send them to a bass builder to have one of my other basses redone to the same specs. He wanted these measurements befor starting any work.
