The Red is the circuit which makes and breaks (Switches on/off) whatever is connected to the middle empty terminal. The black needs connecting to negative of battery to provide a return for the light. At least that is what I expect. No diagram with mine. **Q: There is not much space behind where I want to add these switches, can the pins be bent out of the way to reduce the depth?** A: Yup.
