Very in depth, but you still need to get out there
I purchased the book for my son who is looking to get into the commercial construction industry, and I'm going off of what he told me. If you are looking to learn pretty much everything there is about the construction industry, from the types of projects, to project procurement, different delivery methods, estimation and pricing, and so on and so forth, this book provides a very in - depth analysis of every possible area of the field you could think of. It's very well written and covers every possible sector of the industry in immense detail. With that being said, I would have loved to see a few more real - world examples in the book. The review questions are nice for reinforcing the knowledge, and there are a few asides where the author talks about some real - world instances, but ultimately, you will need to get onto a construction job site to truly make the most out of this knowledge. This book is great for anyone in the engineering field who may be considering a career in construction, but you definitely will need to get some experience to make the most of what you learn in the book. I encourage reading it without skipping a single page, as every word in this text is useful regarding all things construction.

RIP OFF! CHARGING TWO TIMES MORE THAN THE MARKED PRICE!
The book itself is fine, although it’s leaving little paper shreds everywhere! Tiny specks of white paper end up all over you and the table when it’s moved or thumbed through. One of the pics shows this after I had just finished wiping the table up and then opened the book again. I can live with that, I am upset I was ripped off. Book is $39.99 USA and this is clearly written on the back cover. I paid $82.75 PLUS $3.99 for shipping! That is ridiculous! Would be returning if I didn’t need the spiral bound spine that this book has, as the class starts Monday and this took weeks to actually get! I didn’t mind paying for shipping, it came USPS, but being charged double is not ok. Seller is selling for more than twice what this book is marked for as the retail sale price. Included pics of the front, back and the pricing clearly indicated on the Construction Management Jumpstart book cover. Buy elsewhere! Don’t fall for the same crooked scam that I did!

This book could assists everyone in this sector from designer to manager, to know all important details about the construction market in North America including delivery methods, contracts, bids, and so on. I highly recommend it.

OMG!! This is the best construction management book I've ever read! Worth every penny. Really loved the author's style of delivering the message into the readers. You'll never get bored of it. It's such a great adventure.
