Worth the price tag
I wouldn't say this is an exceptional quality filter. However, for the price tag, this is a great GND filter. Recommended to all beginners and low budget photographers.

Great product but no storage case!
I love the filter. Exactly what I was looking for to help me tame the sun while doing those Sunset Beach Photos. But WTH Cokin????? I would have given this a 5 star review but Cokin took the cheap way out and did not include a protective case!!! It even shows the case in the Amazon photo of this item! I own many Cokin filters and every one came with a protective plastic case. If including the case cost another dollar or two, I would have gladly paid it! What am I going to do with this when it isn't attached to the holder on the front of my lens????

Does the job for those long exposure shots. Product ...
Does the job for those long exposure shots.Product was delivered on time, one of the ND filters I purchased had few scratches at the edge but I kept it anyways.

A must have for landscape photographers.
Love this filter for me landscape photography. It allows me to cut down the intensity of the sky while keeping the lower part of the frame a few stops brighter. This helps me to achieve correct exposure across the inter image. Plus with the P system you can stack filter for greater ND or a effects.

Great, but could use a better case
This is a great product, the plexi glass is high quality and certainly does it's job as a graduated ND filter. My only gripe is that I wish it came in a better case with it moving around and not being held firmly in place, it will end up with worn down edges and a scratched up ND filter. There are others out there with better cases, but for the price this does it's job. I ended up just replacing my case with a better one later on.

It's just okay
Love my solid Cokins, but disappointed in this one. I tried to layer a solid neutral density Cokin with this filter, and it left a very strange very obvious purple cast where the two "neutral" crossed each other. So I won't be doing that anymore, but thought it might be useful in a scene with split lighting needs. I would have thought that they used the same coloring process for all of their neutral density filter's, but apparently not If you are new to split filters, here is something to keep in mind. Even though you may have your lens stopped down to F16, your view finder views around f4. Meaning, The line of demarcation on your filter isn't where you think it is in your scene. F4 shows a very shallow depth of field as compared to F-16. If you have a depth of field preview button, do check that and adjust your filter as needed. Since this one has a gradual stop, it is at least a bit more forgiving, but you can still really make a mess of your horizon that might be too difficult to edit later

Good filter on a budget.
Disappointed that these filters are now plastic versus glass. All my old Cokin filters are glass. Perhaps it was just where I was, but this seemed to attract dust where as I have not had that issue with my older filters. Still, it goes the trick until I can afford a higher quality filter. Long term I am concerned with how easily this may scratch. Time will tell.Update 3-26-14 - I meant do update sooner. I realize now I was mistaken. I looked at my other filters and they are not glass. They too are plastic. However, they do have a different feel to them though so I still think the newer filters are less sturdy. But with care they should be fine. Still not sure why it seemed to attract so much dust. May have just been a fluke. Still, it does the trick on a budget.

Primo Esemplare davvero scadente.. Poi Aggiornamento!!

A Must for Landscape Photos
Cokin P121S Grad Grey G2 SFT(ND8)Square Filter Digital photography is a wonderful innovation, however the digital medium can be very unforgiving when there is a mixture of very light and dark in the same image. This is most apparent in landscape photography. How many times have you perfectly exposed the foreground only to find that the sky is completely burnt out? Or you have correctly exposed for the sky and the foreground is almost black. Although this can be rectified to a degree in Photoshop, it can be very time consuming. There is always the HDR method, but this involves multiple exposures and more time in Photoshop. The easy alternative is the Cokin Grad Grey. Simply slide it into the filter holder, level it with the bright part of your image and you will have a better overall exposed image with more definition and colour in the sky. It IS SIMPLE and IT WORKS, and should be on the shopping list for any photographer interested in Landscape images. The only slight problem you might experience is some vignetting, caused by the filter holder. I use the slimmer version holder available from Cokin, and still get some vignetting. This will depend upon the lens you use. I use a Nikon 24-70mm on the Nikon D700, and only experience vignetting at the 24mm setting. Cokin P121S Grad Grey G2 SFT(ND8)Square Filter

Volle 5 Sterne.
