Don't understand why there are mixed reviews for it not being a good value for the money. It has 3 settings. high , low and away. I don't know what away is but the low and high mean how sensitive the clapper is to your claps. On low , I slam my hands together Really Loud and sometimes I have to do this 2 or 3 times. I am strong so it should work once. Hence Low is no good for me. On High, once in a while there will be a loud sound like a book being slammed down on a table and the clapper will turn on or off the lamp. But this is rare. So I have it on High and am happy with it.
