Sturdy steel with very nice finish
I recently reconfigured my music studio desk to include new hardware on one of its built in racks. The racks on the desk are 4U and the new hardware only occupied two 1U spaces. This product seemed ideal for filling the two 1U spaces in the rack. When the item arrived, I was impressed that each sturdy steel blank was individually packed in its own plastic sleeve. The mounting ears were packed t per pouch and the screws for attaching the mounting ears to the blanks were also separately packaged (with one extra screw per package). The parts went together in minutes and when installed the scratch-resistant black matte finish looked really good in the blank spaces. I would definitely purchase again.

Does what it’s supposed to
Easy to assemble, easy to install, does exactly what it’s intended to do. This is a flat piece of metal, not high-tech gear.

Incomplete product.
Doesn't ship with the ears for connecting it....so just two flat pieces of metal. Defeats the purpose!

Excellent product!
The rack ears were metal on this one, not nylon like other reviews. Maybe the manufacture has switched to all metal? These are solid. Tiny black machine screws make attractive accent to rack and gear. recommended!

Ears are flimsy plastic, but they fill the hole.
These are three-part slot covers - each ear screws onto the center section. Probably won't order again, but they aren't bad, just flimsy. If you don't need them to do anything but fill in the hole, they'll work fine.

Does what it needs to do
Just needed blanking plates for 1u gaps in the rack and this fits nicely. It's straight and has proper height.
