Insert AND Remove - works better than expected
This works for INSERTION (don't squeeze it) AND for REMOVAL (squeeze-release to create suction, then squeeze (only) to release the lens).I like this much better than expected.Adding a picture because in earlier reviews it seems like there was some discrepancy in which product was shipped. The product I received 12/2019 is vented as shown.SIZE: This plunger is smaller than the 'insertion plunger' from my Dr, and larger than the orange 'removal plunger' from my Dr.I have Scleral lenses (large hard lenses) and the Dr provided 2 separate 'plungers' - one larger vented one for insertion & a smaller non-vented one for removal. It takes a little practice for timing to activate the suction properly to remove the lens with this DMV one, but better functionality overall. Just squeeze to release the suction! My 'removal plunger' from the Dr was not 'vented', so I had to squeeze the tiny sides to release the lens. This one is 'vented', so when you squeeze it, it gently releases the lens. (this is especially good if your aim is not that accurate to get the lens out of your eye!, which is even more difficult when you can't see well!!)I bought this pack to create a few travel/emergency kits (my car, work, etc.) with extra solution, cases, saline, backup glasses, etc.. but now I also use one of these as my everyday plunger tool.

Finally able to actually use ortho-k lenses
I was unable to figure out how to put ortho-k lenses in or take them out using my finger or pushing on my eyelids. But like Mom always said, "If it's difficult, you're using the wrong tool." My optomestrist didn't want me to use a plunger because "what if I lose it" and I was just like, you know what--the lens itself is ALSO a tiny piece of plastic that I can't lose or else? Soooooo... Anyway...This. This is the right tool for ortho-k lenses.

Perfect for removing RGP contact lenses
After wearing contact lenses for years, I was no longer able to pop them out the way I could when I was younger. It got so I was afraid to put my lenses in my eyes because of the difficulty getting them out. I recently learned about removal tools and the first time I tried them, it was like a miracle. So easy to get the lens out. Now I am able to wear my lenses again. (I don't know how they work for insertion because that has not been a problem.)After using both the plunger type and this vented type, I prefer the plungers because the process uses a drop of solution to help form the suction and that rehydrates my eye. The benefit of this style is that you don't need to have solution available. However, both types of removers feel like a miracle.

Hard Contact Lens Remover
The product works get for removing hard contacts. I recent got hard contacts and this product made it easier to remove the contacts because of the suction. The delivery good delay for a few days so it was a few days late. Overall the product works well.

Just what I was looking for! The only one that worked.
I was looking for a contact lens remover that had the suction capability for INSERTING hard contact lenses and also removing. I previously bought other ones, and this one was the only one that had the right size suction and was easy to use. This was recommended to me by an optometrist friend, and I wish I had asked her sooner before trying other brands. Other ones did not have the capability to remove the lenses. Others were also had too large of a suction cup. You need to squeeze/pinch the handle a little bit to have the lens stick to the suction cup. And then another pinch to release it. It's small suction cup size also allowed for centering the lens well onto the suction cup. I would not go with any other remover.

Works great!
I prefer these over the larger ones that lack a hole as they work better when I have to take the lense out of my son's eye (he usually do it himself and is able to use both type, but will use this one when he has a harder time.
