Cole's FF10 Finch Friends Bird Seed, 10-Pound

The finches and chickadees were at the feefer all day long!

I've bought this seed 3 times. It's great quality -- fresh and barely any seeds are broken. Birds (several types of finches, cardinals and mourning doves) are at the feeder from dawn to dusk. My yard is filled with song.The price is so much better than buying locally and comparable to other online prices.****** I buy sunflower seeds Cole's SM10 10 Pound Sunflower Meats Seed at the same time and mix them 1/2 and 1/2. I have lots of niger seeds left over otherwise. This mix works perfectly for me.

Bought this and put it out in my finch feeder, replacing just nyjer seed that all my finches would flock to! The minute I put this out, the birds refused to use the finch feeder for anything other than a temporary landing pad. The seed was protected from weather, and was definitely not moldy. Even so, I tossed the seed, cleaned the feeder, and replaced with fresh seed from the original bag purchased. Again, the finch refused to eat the seed. They only ever landed on this feeder by accident. My next move was to try the seed in a new feeder; they still refused to eat this Cole’s finch ‘no waste’ mix.By the time I figured out it was an issue with the seed, the return window had long since closed. Technically, I suppose the seller didn’t have to do anything, but when I wrote to tell them of the issue (prior to writing this review), they returned $12 and changeover my credit card, presumably for my trouble. (They never bothered to actually converse with me.) However, I paid over $35 for a bag of food that was obviously bad from the get go, as evidenced by the birds response/refusal in spite of my many efforts to mitigate any other potential issues. The birds themselves are delighted with the many other fresh seed choices I offer them. This Cole’s mix is now headed for the bin!One would think that a reputable company would care about their customers enough to make right any such issues. Sadly, it seems that those days are long past. Happy to hear that others have had no issues with their seed or purchases. Remember though, the same goes for fair weather companies as with fair weather friends. Honor and ethics are in short supply these days.I will buy my seed elsewhere in future.

Great seed! My gold finches & finches love this seed! I have to fill the feeder every other day. It is a large tube feeder with 6 ports & usually full & 8 to 10 others waiting to feed!
