A Beautiful Return to an Epic Journey
After all these years, Shenmue III is nothing short of a dream come true. From the moment the game begins, you’re transported into a breathtakingly beautiful world — the art direction is simply gorgeous, with lush rural landscapes, bustling towns, and tranquil villages that feel like they could exist in reality. Every environment feels alive, inviting you to slow down, explore, and truly lose yourself in Ryo Hazuki’s journey. Hearing the original voice actor reprise his role as Ryo adds an incredible layer of authenticity and emotional weight. It’s like reconnecting with an old friend. Wuying Ren’s original voice actor also returns, which is another wonderful touch that fans of the series will immediately appreciate. The gameplay is everything you could hope for in a Shenmue title: part martial arts adventure, part life simulation. You’ll train, take on odd jobs, gamble, play nostalgic arcade games, and meet a wonderfully colorful cast of characters — all while unraveling the mystery of the Phoenix Mirror. Yu Suzuki has crafted a breathing, living world that feels lovingly detailed and full of heart. That said, not every gameplay element hits the mark. Some quick time events (QTEs), like the infamous chicken-catching mini-game, feel more frustrating than fun and could easily have been left out. Still, these are minor blemishes in an otherwise lovingly crafted experience. The only real disappointment lies in the confrontation with Lan Di. After all the build-up across three games, the battle feels anticlimactic, and with no clear word on a sequel, it leaves Ryo’s story frustratingly unfinished. Even so, Shenmue III is a stunning achievement — a labor of love that’s both a faithful continuation and a celebration of what made the series so beloved. If you’re a longtime fan or simply someone who appreciates a beautiful, slow-burning adventure, this is an experience you shouldn’t miss.

Only complaint I have is that the DLC Voucher Code did not work since I didn't realize it is U.K account's only......
