Pro Studio Solutions EZ Pro Strip Box softbox 12"x56" (12x56 in) Eggcrate - 50 Degree Grid (Each Grid Size: 2"(w) x2(l) x1.5(h)), Egg Crate

I bought this strip box to be used in the field as it is really easy to set up and tear down, but have only used it in the studio so far. It is very easy to set up and tear down compared to traditional soft boxes and seems to very durable. I have used it a handful of times and am very happy with the results. I am currently looking at investing in another soft box from this company and would recommend it to others. If you have a studio on the go like I do or are interested in adding lighting to your location shoots and have fast setup than I would encourage you to buy this or a similar box. I hope this helps!

I had high hopes for this grid but I can't say too many things good about it after having used it. The grid performs well in terms of providing nice, focused light but as soon as I tried to remove it from the strip box, it came apart in my hands. It's now in seven pieces and I was attempting to remove it by grabbing the velcro (as you should) and not the grid material and still it came apart. I need this for a shoot this week so I will keep the strip box and grid assembled and repair the grid as best I can with black gaffer's tape but I'm replacing both the grid and the strip box with a Paul C Buff model as soon as I can. I'm very disappointed with the build quality of this grid. For the price that grids cost, you should expect it to stand up a lot better than this one did.

So very easy to set up it has replaced my similar non folding boxes. Light is even and nice. All but one did not initially fit my lights as advertised but manufacturer made it right with replacement speed rings. AMAZON was no help Fotodiox was.

Some reviewers say that this grid is not well made. IMO, it is better made than any other less expensive grid I have ever purchased like PCB grids. I'm sure there are plenty of awesome grids for 3 or 5 times the money. If years of service and the highest standards of construction are your goal - go buy the $250 grid and don't compare it to $50 grid. That is like comparing a Mercedes to a Chevette.

This is a budget item that is very suitable to leave set up in your studio; however, if you plan to use this item hard, and in the field, I would certainly recommend you save your money and buy a more durable pro product. The supplied speed ring is a cheap, and not heavy duty, but does fit my Alien Bees stones well with no issues. The fabric grid is somewhat fragile, and likely will not hold up with heavy use - specifically taking on and off, though I tend to leave mine attached. Overall, this is a good value-based item and I am satisfied.

From the reviews, I read that this product was a cheap alternative to the more professional softboxes, and that is correct - it is practically made of paper. However I took that into consideration and purchased anyways just to have the "function" of a softbox with grid while knowing I need to be especially careful with it. Unfortunately several months after purchasing it, I finally opened it up it up to see how fragile it was... then months later decided to try the eggcrate only to find out it doesn't fit! It's not even the right eggcrate! They shipped the eggcrete gride for  Fotodiox Pro Octagon Eggcrate Grid for 36" Softbox  while labeled as also mislabeled as the 12x56" grid!I wish I could at least get the proper grid, but do not see how that is possible so many months after purchase. Check your gear and test it out as soon as you buy it!

Be very gentle putting on and taking it off of softbox will rip very easily but you will be fine as long as you take your time applying and dismantling
