I will be keeping this as a beautiful example of craftsmanship that is sadly leaving us. As a working knife it is also an example of how modern metallurgy and manufacturing has gone to another level.

After reading so many stellar reviews of this knife, in general, I decided to splurge and get the collector’s edition. Where the basic #8 runs about $25, this one is just shy of $100.The package arrived factory sealed, so it wasn’t as if anyone had damaged and returned it. The blade looks as though it had been wiped with a dirty cloth, and it has signs of oxidation. Not something one would expect from a brand new product. The upgraded wood handle is nice bit, again, not worth it overall.If you’re looking to get one of these, save your money and get the basic one. I’ll be returning this one.

What can I say. I bought this for myself as a birthday present. This is the coolest Opinel ever! It has stainless steel blade with a highly polished mirror finish. The handle is just gorgeous! As former woodworker, I spent hours figuring out how this handle was manufactured. All I can say is that I did and that it is a multi-step process which makes this knife worth every penny that is costs. The only thing wrong with knife is that it is way too nice for every day use. It is a folding work of art to be carried with pride. I love it and will carry it on every special occasion.It looks like I'll be going more often.

I love these knives. I have gotten several and even gifted them to others. This one has a great design for the handle and is easy to use and lock the blade. It has worked well for me.

Pictures don't do this knife justice. I wish they had the Chaperon handles on some of the larger Opinels--imagine what Bruno could do with the massive handle of a #13!

Très beau couteau pour collectionneur

Que dire de plus pour préciser? Rien de bien extraordinaire à ajouter, si ce n'est que ses jolies couleurs ont ravi un collectionneur. C'est un bel objet, solide et simple, qui durera. Un Opinel, quoi, et un beau...

J'ai acheté ce couteau pour l'offrir à un fan d'Opinel.Rien à dire à part que la fabrication est soignée, le décor est juste superbe. J'ai fais graver ultérieurement le nom de la personne sur la lame, il en est très satisfait, et n'ose d'ailleurs pas l'utiliser tellement il est beau.
