I do not use canned shave foams or gels, and have ditched multi-blade shaving cartridges, as they are too expensive and have to be disposed of in landfills. Instead, I bought a quality "double edge" razor and use quality double edge razor blades that are recyclable. The cost of each blade, that can be used multiple times, is around ten cents. Having been a wet shaver for many years, I've tried many products for use during the morning shave ritual. Proraso makes a great line of quality shave products, made in Italy, and this pre-shave cream works great. It penetrates and softens the beard stubble that assists the shave soap to make removal of the stubble an effortless process.

I have been using this preshave for about two months now, and after finally getting used to / learning the best way of how to use it I would say it's an amazing product. This pre-shave works just as good as any high end stuff and I have used all sorts of different shaving creams and pre-shaves. This one has been one of my favorites! I will say that the scent is very nice when it's mixed with the shaving creaming and the post shave oil. It's seems weird but this pre-shave and the shaving cream have some what of an "old man" smell (I'm 36) that could be off putting to some. But, when they are combined with the post shave oil the scent be comes extermly close to the scent of Art of Shavings sandalwood and smells amazing. My wife always complements it and she's 4 years younger so I wouldn't say it's an old persons scent. Hope this review helps!

It's not that it smells bad, it's just a somewhat strong, old guy aftershave smell. Reminds me of Brut, actually, and I wouldn't want to walk around all day with that fragrance wafting off off of me. But this is a pre-shave cream, so the smell goes away as soon as you rinse off your face. And the cream makes shaving much more comfortable, even when using a quality shave soap or cream, properly lathered up by a silver-tipped badger brush, as every man ought to. The Proraso pre-shave cream moisturizes the skin and lubricates it to help the razor glide more smoothly, and the black label variety is the thickest and most effective of the varieties I've tried (all of them except the blue). So despite not loving the scent, I do love product because the scent is a very temporary component of it. Absolutely worth the money and the extra ten seconds it takes to apply; I won't shave without it.

At first I wasn’t sure if this would work well as a pre-shave for me; I am a wet shaver who shaves in the shower with a bowl, brush, etc. I use various different shave creams and soaps, most recently I’ve been a big fan Jack Blacks Supreme Cushion Tub Shaving cream, (among others). This Blue Proraso Pre-shave rocks! It smells great in my opinion, a clean and light scent, it provides both a coat of protection as well as a bed for additional lather and the menthol adds to the fresh, clean cutting along with a little skin brace of sorts. The only down side is its a small jar for $13 bucks but it should last you a few months depending on how much you use and shave. I love the old school, glass jar over plastic but be careful in the shower as you obviously don't want to drop a glass bottle in the shower. I love this product and the glass bottle as well as the effectiveness from it. If you're looking for an alternative to the Pre-Shave Oil's definitely give this a try! The Pre-Shave Oils always clog up my DE razor blades far too much and also create an exceptionally slick Shower floor when using, and sadly for the family that may follow your shave in the shower with pre-shave Oils. I’ve bought this for family and friends to try who use various shaving methods and so far everyone has really enjoyed it and has added to their regular having routine. They make this in different scents and benefits but the blue label has been our favorite. Happy shaving!

This smells great and gives a great shave my only gripe is the menthol. Why add menthol to a product that is otherwise perfect?

Another great Proraso product. If you're into traditional wet shaving you will undoubtedly know the Proraso name and the quality of the products they make. Can be used as part of a set, shaving cream, post Shave balm etc, or just on its own to condition your skin and soften your beard prior to shaving. Either way a great product.

A great complement to the Proraso soap line that can also be used as shaving cream.

Die Preshavecreme ist sehr ergiebig. Die Anwendung ist einfach und schnell, die Rasurvorbereitung ist spürbar vorhanden. Der Bart ist weich und die Klinge gleitet super. Ich habe die Creme, als auch Aftershave aufgetragen. Die Pflege war eine kühlende ,Feuchtigkeit spendende, Wirkung. Der Duft ist " zart " ,unaufdringlich, wie Rasier Kosmetik sein soll. .
