Brought my old Dynasonic back to life!
I thought I just didn't know how to tune this drum. But, it was the old snare wires all along. When I replaced them with this model, the drum jumped into life. Easy to adjust and sounds awesome!

Good replacement wires for Dyna-sonic snares
I installed these wires on my Dyna-sonic snare drums. They sound great and seem to be well constructed. They'll probably last forever if properly cared for.

Perfect fit and excellent quality
This just works! On my vintage Dyna-sonic this is a perfect replacement. In addition to this particular model, I recommend PureSound snares in general. There quality and quality control is excellent. I have never had a set come bent, or with wires protruding from the solder or uneven soldering at the ends; all of which hurt/destroy sound. So I've never had to return a set, which I have with other brands. If you've not tried PureSound, I recommend them.

Good, but not quite what I really needed.
I would have given this PureSound snare a 5-star review, but the manufacturer refuses to make the Radio King version with riveted metal tabs that are required on my vintage 1963 COB RK Snare drum. Instead, I made tabs from aluminum strips and riveted them myself to the snare assembly. Hard to believe that PureSound wouldn't do this as an accommodation to vintage drum owners for a small fee. Just take one of these (which they DO manufacture) out of stock and put some tabs on it -- there is a market for these, but PS doesn't really give a darn. I contacted their customer service with this sugestion, but they said it couldn't (wouldn't, really) be done.

A little disappointed with Pure sound
They used to be the best out there. Shoty soldering with points from the strands sticking outand a bit rusted. I cleaned it up and ground off the pickers so it didn't damage my head and it will work. But I shouldn't have to do that with new anything !!!

Works with the Radio King Three Point Strainer with a minor modification
I was restoring a '41 Radio King snare with a three-point strainer, and it was missing the original snare wires. PureSound discontinued the snare wire specifically designed for that model, but I was able to find the clam shell version in stock. Since what I really needed it for was the additional length of the wire section, I put this clam shell version on a drill press and created two more holes at each of the wires for the string to go through. Worked out great. Maybe it'll work out for others with a similar requirement.

PureSound - PureAwesome!
For those proud owners of any Ludwig Supersensitive snare, the PureSound wires look good and sound great. The come in pre-1968 and current versions. The bronze ends really look nice and give that professional touch to the snare, though one would actually 'listen' to a snare rather than 'look' at it, even less so from the bottom...
