Can the silver 35mm mounting part be removed so I can mount speaker bracket to the 1.5 inch telescoping tube?

The silver sleeve can be pulled clear out of the center post. It has spring loaded buttons that can be held in as the sleeve is pulled out.

Do these offer lift assist?

This stand does not offer lift assist. It will help by not allowing the speaker to slide back down when it has been lifted even bit by bit. Then there is a lock position. The speaker can be lowered slowly by moderating the locking ring.

I have read that these stands rattle when playing certain frequencies from the speaker placed on them. Is this still a problem?

I can't see that happening. These are the best stands I have ever used. Very sturdy, we'll worth the money. Never had any rattling or vibration issues - I use my stands 100% outdoors, so maybe it's harder to hear if there is a vibration?

What's the height for the standard and what's the height for the extra tall?

Standard: 3'8" - 6'7" Extra Tall: 5'2"- 9'2"
