Coats and protects. Dries semi-ridged
This is a great solution to protecting surfaces. I used it on the Arcade1Up control panels because of the known defect where the art rubs off. Made a shiny smooth surface except for a little bit of a ripple and left-over bubble pock marks, but that's my fault. I've never done this before and to have such a great surface as a first-time-go I have no qualms recommending this. The epoxy dries semi-ridged. I was able to peal some of the dried epoxy from the back of the board (where it spilled over a bit) and it peeled like sun-burnt skin. It had decent adhesive action. On the arcade control panel's back vinyl-like surface it held well but peeled when pulled on, which was good for my situation... I wanted the top coated and the rest un-done.

very nice.
If you follow the instructions, it works well. I had to cover 5.3 sq feet in be cabinet bottom. I first used the 16 quart which I stretched to cover 5 square feet (rated to cover 4 sq feet), but the edges pulled back, I then used 4 oz (could have used 2 oz) to fill the open spots. The second batch was smaller so I stirred more vigorously and got some more air bubbles, but they are not very noticeable. The second batch also was slightly higher, but the transitions are not very noticeable. In the picture I poured some of the second batch on the left front, left back corner, and the back edge to the right of the water pipes. If I could do it again, I would mix enough to entirely cover the entire surface at one time.

Follow the directions and it works beautifully + tip :)
I felt the directions were more complicated than in actual use. I had measured, poured, used another container - then just added it all together in the end. I wanted a thick layer to cover some beautiful fall leaves I had dried, and then spray-glued onto an old metal tray I painted. While it was drying (here comes the tip) I would check on it and with an old clean toothbrush, I would very gently push or pop the tiny bubbles that appeared. I did try to do as the directions said, using my breath, but the brush really worked so much better while it was still liquid. No bubbles at all when it dried and I like the way this little tray turned out. The amount in the kit was perfect to cover the thickness of the leaves. Very pleased!

Yellowed Right Away
My toddler painted some ceramic coasters for an art project and I used the Envirotex to finish them. This was my first time using this product and it was pretty easy to use and once it dried, the finish is glassy and looks pretty good in terms of durability and thickness. My biggest issue with this is how much it yellows immediately. I am aware that resin can yellow over time, but this turned the white ceramic a tan color immediately when I poured it onto the tiles. Itโs not really a big deal for this project since it was just a fun art project for my toddler and actually the tan color isnโt terrible. But it is something to be aware of! (Picture shows tile on the right without Envirotex, tile on the left with Enirotex).

glassine
Used this to lay down some water effects on dioramas, pouring it to mimic a icy river, and smoothing it on to portray a rainy wet street. In both applications, the product excels. A couple of recommendations. First, be vigilant to disperse any bubbles that arrive late to the party. In a diorama application, there are nooks and crannies that might be slow to release any trapped air. I used a straw to direct my breath to areas that needed dispersing, but using care not to blow faux snow or rubble onto the wet material. Second, heed the warnings concerning vapor inhalation. I cannot over emphasis this. In working on a diorama or any other small craft, there is a tendency to hover over the project, with one's face close to the action. In doing this, I noticed a central nervous system buzz (not a head rush), which kind of concerned me. Besides working in an open garage, next time I will add a fan to move the odors that rise from the project. For modelers, there are a good handful of products to portray water effects. With this product, where diligence, safety, and exactness is required, the end result is something that I think you will like: A crystal clear, and super hard finish.

It was very easy to apply and get semi professional results
Applied this to a dip net that I made. I have never used any kind of epoxy finish before so was a bit nervous about trying it on something I had spent so much time making. It was very easy to apply and get semi professional results. I used a foam brush to apply it (despite directions stating not to) and a heat gun tip on butane soldering iron to pop the few air bubbles that I saw. There were a few that I noticed after the finish had cured that either I didn't see or developed from air coming out of the unsealed open grain wood. I took MUCH less finish than I was expecting. I mixed up half of the 8 oz kit and only needed about a fourth of that. Very happy with the results.

Works great
A little goes a long way. I mixed about a shot glass size amount for five 4x4 picture tiles and had enough left to do about ten more. This was my first epoxy project and it turned out really good. In hindsight I wish I had the popcicle sticks that would be ideal to spread it as that was my biggest challenge and also I would afix the pictures to the tile better (I used glue stick and real glue soread super thin would work better). It would be an unusual gift so I only gave 2 stars for that category but itโs a great project, more for making gifts to give than for gifting itself.

Great for fishing lures
I'm using this to clear handmade wooden fishing lures. One coat on the wood, then paint, then one top coat. It looks prefect, as Etex is one of the top 2 or 3 sealing materials for this purpose. I also use it to hold the screw eyes into the lures. I'm using syringes mounted in the caps to carefully measure out the correct amounts, and have not yet had a bad batch (improper ratio). I highly recommend, it has low smell and is very predictable.

Glass finish
Easy to use, very little smell, and a glass like finish. Love it.
