Wayne and Sherry Lee have integrated sound church growth principles with active Pentecostal ministry. Their model is an example of Spirit-led health that could transform the church. This book is a well-written introduction to the deep principles of the model. It is a useful introduction and a useful tool for exploring the possibilities of true health in the church. If you are tired of trying to make generic church growth apply to Pentecostal ministry, this book is the answer.

Finally, someone who went to the true Author of the church and served as His scribe today for teaching His people how to guide the Church.

This book is great for anyone looking for organization help. It sets a pattern that can be used with any size group.

The presentation seems atypical in that rather than stating a proposition which they then develop, the authors write from the perspective of a personal journal of their experiential discoveries. The credibility factor stems from their forty years of tenacity on the single focus of understanding how to structure a local congregation for the holistic benefit of the followers of Christ.The meat of this book starts in Chapter 4 with the presentation of the dashboard of 15 vital functions church leaders must learn to monitor.Like so many other consultants, this book is a form of sales pitch for the materials they produce and the services they supply. Still that is commendable in that they believe in their message and its demonstrated effectiveness. A distinguishing feature of the Church Life Model is that it does not superimpose an alien template over an existing reality; rather the Church Life template serves as a petri dish into which a local situation deposits its spiritual DNA and intentionally directs its development.The book is not a silver bullet of fixits for a dysfunctional congregation, but it does supply a helpful alternative point of view for every congregation. The promise of future books and present additional resources offers the serious congregational change agent an intentional pathway forward into a healthier future. It is a worthwhile read for those frustrated in their present ministry status quo.

The Church Life Model by Drs. Lee create a big picture understanding of the biblical blueprint of a new testament church from their more than thirty years as successful pastors, mentors, coaches, and scholars. Often a platform-driven, attraction model only offering a stadium-like crowd gathering focus robs churches of making biblical disciples through a healthy, balanced, life-giving church. Church Life paints this picture and the path clearly for me.
