It works when put into action; a good companion to some of his other books. It is worth a second read with notes.

This book provides and excellent overview of what you need to know to dive into RE investing. It covers many aspects, some in greater depth than others, but rest assured, when you finish it, you will have a good idea of what you need to consider for rental property investing (both the do's and the don'ts, including tricks of the trade). The author, Brandon Turner, provides many first-hand stories to illustrate his points. His tone is friendly and enthusiastic, while also being realistic. He does not present real estate investing as a get rich quick scheme, but rather something that you work at in a smart and determined fashion. References to Turner's website, Bigger Pockets, point you to useful tools (but not in a pushy way), another helpful benefit. If you are looking for a primer book to begin your entry into RE investing, put this at the top of your list!

This book is amazing. We have been thinking of buying a rental for years but this book was what encouraged us to finally commit. We just purchased our first duplex and we are so excited to start our real estate investing journey. The chapters are well organized and easy to comprehend for newbie investors!

Very insightful every investor should read

Great intro book if you are interested in getting started in rental property investing, full of wisdom, checklists and tips. Well written and easy to follow.

I am new to real estate. I have a great job that I love and will never quit until I can no longer do it so my intent for purchasing this book was never to go into real estate to make a living but rather to diversify my investments. While I have not made a single investment yet, after reading this book I feel like I am off to a fantastic start. I used the material in this book to develop a plan. I now know exactly where to start and I already have a great personal investment plan. This is a very well written book with very helpful examples. It was easy to read and full of very helpful information. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is wanting to invest in real estate either as a primary job or as an opportunity to diversify your investments.

Good book for beginner

I was looking for a real-estate book that offers more personal experiences on property investing. This book has not disappoint me so far. A point to note is that the author's experience is on residential property so the book will be less suitable for investors looking into commercial properties. Still an excellent book to read to learn the essence of rental investing.

I'm not sure why there are negative reviews of this book. I think most people want a step by step, hand holding, you can do this sweetheart book. This book does tell you how to invest in real estate step by step, but every country and even states/province's have different rules and regulations. Brandon does say that you should do your research, and if you arent willing to do that then real estate investing is not for you. Top notch book!!!! I live in canada and found a wealth of information that was relatable in my country. Thanks Brandon for your wisdom and your podcast. PS. You dont have to buy this book, all the same info is in his podcast which is free!!!!

Amazing value out of it. The only thing that I didn’t like about it was, the fact that the author mentions his website BiggerPockets too many times in his work ,which can become annoying at some point.
