Science of Strength Training: Understand the Anatomy and Physiology to Transform Your Body (The Science of Fitness) : Current, Austin: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Great book reference book for strength training - I've been a gym member for many years and into weight training. I bought this book a couple of years ago and have just ordered a copy for my daughter who has recently started strength training. It's one of the best I have read on the subject and would recommend it to anyone interested in strength training whether a beginner or experienced. It covers everything you need to know, from how muscles work, grow and gain strength to what exercises you need to do for what muscle groups. It has good quality drawings of the anatomy and a wide range of the different types of exercises for different muscle groups with information on how to do the exercises safely. It also covers nutrition and how to create a progressive strength training program for improvement. A great reference book which covers everything you need to know. The only slight criticism I can think of; the annotations on the drawings are a little small, but still 5 stars from me. Review: Great informative book - Provides the 'why' and helpful to put workouts together .really helpful for preparing gym sessions fab photos , explanations.

This book tells you the science behind strength training, and with the knowledge I started training much better than before. It even gives you a workout plan for different goals and technique behind every exercise 👍 The only issue for me is that there are nearly no exercises that you could do without equipment.

Best book ever! Whoever wants to gain knowledge about proper training and physiology together with improving your lifestyle and technique in training then this is the book for you. As a personal trainer, reading this book helped me know at a deeper level the importance of strength training.

Vividly visual with clear descriptions of complex concepts, structures, and systems at work when working muscles. Following a strength training program @ the back & feeling it. Might mess with the aesthetic of the book series, but side tabs to reference the exercises would be the only improvement. Recommend customers spring for spiral-bound 🌀 esp if using for reference material or for looping exercises for workout.
