Our cities water was literally undrinkable. We had sediment and rust coming through our new build home water pies. We had a whole home unit installed including the UV light, conditioner and filtration and are very happy with our decision. The install was easy but be sure to research the flow of the unit as the installation pamphlet and the website pamphlet contradict each other. The unit is well built and easy to use!

We started having problems with our on-demand hot water heater. Cleaning up the water fixed it

The fittings for this Salt Free Water Conditioner Whole House Descaler do not match the size of the original Simply Soft Whole House Descaler. It's not compatible on my original Aquasana system.

Seems like a great product but the plug/weld failed. Ended up going to lowes for an APSmith version which seems to work. But not sure why it only had one tank vs the two on the Aquasauna. My father has one of these and it seems to work just as good as the AOSmith, however the life of the Aquasauna is much better. Overall I think it’s a great product, wish mine didn’t have an issue because it caused some pretty bad flooding. Four stars because my father has one and loves it, maybe I just got unlucky and didn’t want to wait for a replacement.

We've had the aquasana whole house system for 6 years. I'm not entirely sure it works, but I decided to reinvest in the descaler. Instructions say it's easy swap. Not so much. First, you need to go get pvc pipe weld/ concrete. Second, it needs washers (referred to as the white washers in the instructions), which are not included. Transferring from the former unit is risky, but that's what I did. And connections to other components were stressed in process of changing tanks. So, bottom line, if you are a moderately skilled DYIer and have pvc weld and plumbers tbred tape (also not included), and you will take time to go find missing components, like the washers, and are confident you won't damage existing connections...... It might work for you.

Please note this is NOT a water softener but a conditioner. I have hard water that if left untreated causes scale deposits inside piping and appliances. This water conditioner works as expected eliminating and or reducing those deposits. I believe this produce is well constructed and came complete with schedule 80 PVC fittings. These fittimgs are gray shown in the attached photo. I didn't use the valve provided with the kit because I added more valving that didn't match the one provided. I am very satisfied with my choice.

I have extremely hard water and I really didn't notice a difference after putting this in other than reducing my overall water flow. I'm on well water and the amount of mineral content is very high so perhaps this just can't handle that load but if you have very hard water this isn't likely to help.

didn't last as stated, expensive for what you get, I changed to KleenWater filter with polyphosphate to prevent scale deposits.fraction of the cost and has a changeable element.

Works well and easy to install.
