Good quality, works wonders!
Really nice brush! I have friends with golden retrievers with brushes similar to this, but I never thought they would work on my Yellow Lab because her hair isn't as long. It works beautifully! I really like the easy clean aspect as well. Very easy! Just a button press to remove the hair. And my lab loves being brushed. The brushes aren't sharp at all. She leans into the brush when I brush her! I could brush her all day and keep getting hair out with this brush. If you have a pit bull or similar breed with VERY short hair, it probably wouldn't work (doesn't work on mine) but it is AMAZING for my lab!

Pro Quality Self Cleaning Slicker Brush for Dogs and Cats - Easy to Clean Pet Grooming Brush
This is the BEST dog brush I have ever purchased! I have a white German Shepherd that sheds horrendously, and I use this brush daily! It grabs all the hair, so that it’s not flying all over the place, and locks it in the bristles. It holds a LOT of hair! And at the push of a button, the bristles retract into the brush, and the hair is left in a nice compacted lump. My dog LOVES when I brush her using this brush!! It leaves her coat looking so nice and healthy! It definitely feels like professional quality. I highly recommend purchasing this brush, especially if you’ve got a dog that’s a heavy shedder!

Button sticks
The brush is great and works well on matted areas. The bristles protract with the push of a button but it sticks. It takes several pushes to protract so I usually end up using a comb to clean the hair off the bristles.

Best brush for long costs with matting! Life saver!
I bought several brushes at once to try; I have dogs with long medium and short coats so I figured I’d try them all on all the hair lengths. I have a senior Great Pyrenees who is unable to travel to a groomer. His mane became matted from sitting in dirt, rainy days, and slobber after drinking. I already had a few brushes but none of them got deep enough to detangle the hair. I bought three brushes to try on him. This one was by far the best. The small wooden one in the photo was great but only on short and medium hair. The black and blue one is designed to cut, however, the pressure needed for the blades to actually cut the hair was too much for my old man and caused him discomfort. This brush did great at detangling and brushing out the undercoat. Gentle pressure and brushing slowly worked best. My friend is looking fluffy again and he enjoys brushing when I use this particular brush! Highly recommend to help with matting but also for regular brushing. This brush was great for all hair lengths, all the dogs enjoyed it. On medium and short hair it think it’s great for regular brushing, although at those lengths, it didn’t seem to remove too much of the undercoat though. I think going in with a different brush that would help remove the undercoat and then brushing with this one would be best as this brush does gather it very well.

Self cleaning dog brush
Love this brush! Works great for grooming my full grown hair shedding golden retriever. So much easier to push a button to release hair versus pulling hair from the brush. I liked so much I purchased one for my daughter who also owns a golden retriever and she also loves it. I plan to buy another one to have in my workshop. Brush is sturdy and well made. You won’t be disappointed.

Clancy
The Pro Quality Self Cleaning Slicker Brush is an amazing product. The self-cleaning feature of the brush works as advertised. Just press the button and the bristles retract allowing the user to just wipe the fur off. Easy peasy. My buddy Clancy loves this brush and gets excited when he sees me take it out the kitchen drawer. During the past summer months it was invaluable and reduced the amount of fur shed in the house. One caution...this brush is for a medium to long hair animal. I did notice I had to be careful to brush lightly on his sensitive tummy but it did a wonderful job of picking up all the excess fur. It gets my highest recommendation.

there is no miracle brush
My dogs don't like to be brushed. I've tried about 14 brushes. They don't like being brushed with this one any more or less than any other brush I've tried. I never got the "self cleaning" appeal, as I've never had trouble getting the hair out of my other brushes. I bought it for all the reviews by people saying their dogs LOVE being brushed with this brush and don't like other brushes. This one pulls the same, scratches the same, and works the same as every other decent quality slicker brush I've ever bought. Which is to say it works just fine. It is better than a cheap dollar store slicker brush (they break first time out of the package...been there, done that). It is equal in effectiveness (in my experience) to other quality slickers. If you buy it, it will work. It just isn't miraculously different.

Good brush for Huskies!
This is a great brush. I have a furminator, undercoat rake, and two other types of brushes. This is my go-to brush. I have 2 large huskies and they blow their undercoats about 2-3 times per year. Other brushes either pull the fur out which annoys my dogs, or only get small amounts out, so then I'm brushing for hours. I can get nearly all of the under coat out of a 8"x8" section of my dogs in about 10 minutes. If you have a husky you will know why it takes so long. My female normally doesn't like being brushed and she tolerates this brush much longer than usual. I do suggest using small gentle strokes, this pulls more of the undercoat out in a small section than pulling it through their coat as this tends to yank the fur out (with any brush). The retractable bristles are great and make clean up really easy. I see some of the bristles (they are wire) bending but I'm not certain how that will affect the performance of the brush as of yet. Definitely w great brush if you have huskies!
