Stunning behind the TV, especially paired with the Hue Sync Box
This lightstrip runs along the back of our TV unit and looks absolutely stunning with the Hue Sync Box. The colours are vivid and the white tones are properly warm when you just want ambient lighting in the evening. Installation was easy, the adhesive backing stuck firmly to the back of the TV stand and hasn't peeled off at all. Being a v4 strip it connects directly to the Hue bridge without needing any extra controller which simplifies things. The colour range is impressive, we mainly use it on warm white for movie nights but the kids love cycling through the rainbow colours. It integrates perfectly with our existing Hue setup, all controlled through the app, voice with Alexa, and our Hue dimmer switches. The 2 metre length was just right for our TV unit but you can buy extensions if you need more. Brightness is more than adequate, on full white it actually lights up the room behind the TV nicely. We also use it with the Hue HDMI Sync Box and the effect during films and games is genuinely immersive. Not the cheapest lightstrip you can buy but the Hue ecosystem integration makes it worth it if you're already invested.

Second Hue Light strip - Same Result - Great
So this is my second light strip for under the the kitchen counter. Again no issues and having learned from installing the first one this was even easier. Cut the strip as needed and installed no issues. Again I've seen some reviews where people say the adhesive isn't very good. When I bought my first strip I was wary of that and when I pulled the first piece of backing of the adhesive cover it pulled the whole adhesive leaving a less than sticky strip. This is what happens when you pull the adhesive cover from the end of the strip even when you cut. Carefully reversed what I did and then pulled the adhesive cover from the cut line in the strips. You can see many cut lines in the adhesive cover pull it there! Trust me) All in all love the colour and brightness in the kitchen now. Great product. Would by again

Superb smart lightstrip – brilliant colours and easy to use
I bought the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus v4 (2m base kit) to add some ambient lighting at home, and I’m really impressed with it. The colours are vibrant, the white tones go from very warm to cool and bright, and it instantly makes any room feel more cosy and modern. It looks especially good tucked behind furniture and along edges, giving that “floating” glow without seeing the strip itself. Setup was very simple. I plugged it in, paired it via Bluetooth in the Hue app, and was up and running in a few minutes. The app is easy to use, with loads of scenes and effects, and it’s great being able to dim the lights, change colours or turn them off from my phone. Voice control with Alexa/Google/Apple also works really well once linked. The strip itself feels good quality, the adhesive backing sticks firmly, and I like that it can be cut to length or extended later if needed. Once it’s installed you can more or less forget about it – it just comes on with your routines and quietly does its job. Overall, this is a fantastic smart lightstrip if you want reliable, high-quality ambient lighting that integrates nicely with a smart home. I’m very happy with it and would definitely recommend it.

Bluetooth is a second-class citizen, recommended for Bridge only
The performance of this LED strip is great. Shines brighter than the cheaper ambiguously-branded LED strips and feels better built. I have used cable ties to fix it in place though, as the adhesive is worthless. Its a pretty chunky thick LED strip and if you have to work it around a bend, the thickness and rigidity works against you. The worst thing though is 2 months after buying this new, the bluetooth is playing up. I wouldn't be able to detect the light strip in the Hue app and had to physically plug it from the mains, wait, and plug it back in to work. Note: I'm not talking about disconnecting the strip from the power supply, but the whole thing from the plug. I guess some of the bluetooth assembly is on the adapter-side? This means if you have concealed wiring and a hidden plug like me, its a total faff. As of 2 weeks later, this workaround no longer works and bluetooth is effectively dead. I would have returned it, but I just added some more lights and the Bridge/zigbee protocol works just fine so I can't be asked with the hassle of unmounting it, etc.

Philips Hue Bridge v2 and Colour Striplight v4
Have purchased my first Hue light a 2m colour striplight (v4) snd a Hue bridge (v2). This was for my 10 yr old daughter's bedroom and she is very happy and excited. Pros and technicalities: Ovetall Very easy, simple and convenient setup. Easy to integrate with Alexa. Great product from Philips Hue. 5 stars You Must have downloaded P Hue app (Android, iOS) before installation. 1. Plug Hue bridge into power source 2. Attach bridge with rj45 cable to your network or router. 3. Open app on phone. It automatically detects Bridge, then updates it. 4. Beware it takes quite some time to update! (approximately 15 min) 5. Attach striplight to power 6. Search for Hue lights in app. 7. App detects striplight (very easy, first time, no lag, smooth) 8. Once integrated, it can be named whatever you like. Jojo, rattle, bindi, we settled for Griffin! App now updates Striplight (expect another 15 min to complete it). 9. App integrates with Amazon Echo Alexa seamlessly and works smooth with voice commands. 10. You can name the Room and lights in that room, so I guess you can add as many rooms (as you can spend) and lights in each room. (Total 50 with each Bridge as per manual). 11. You can set scenes and ask alexa eg: 'turn savana sunset in room 1', Perfect 12. You can set routines, timings when light to come and go with sunset and sunrise etc etc Cons and ideas for improvements: 1. Slightly less user friendly for complex settings ie setting routines and grouping lights in each room and then the whole house. It could be improved by adding icons instead of too much prose, (like somfy TaHoma app) 2. Voice commands for Echo: It wouldn't work if you say 'Set Savanna sunset Scene in Room1', instead you have to be Specific and say 'Turn Savanna sunset in room 1'. 3. Setting routines could be simplified: one example is you want lights control to be activated at night time commwncing with sunset and switch off with sunrise. This could be more user friendly in the Hue app as current a bit complex set up. Finally the price of the Hue lights is ridiculously HIGH, you pay a premium, (though no doubt Hue lights are amazing!). Probably it is due to lack of competition but in modern era soon expect other competitors with at par quality of lights and app to get into the ring... can Amazon start making its own colorful lights?!

Good quality light strip, easy to fit
Easy to install, far easier than older models (I think the adhesive has been improved so its far more sticky). Be careful with the plug at the end of the light strip itself, it is a bit fragile. As with all Hue products, the colour range and white tones are fantastic, genuine quality light. Expensive, as ever with Hue, but when on offer its a decent buy for the money. Would recommend. Even the dog loves it.

Brilliant Smart Lighting – Versatile, Bright & Easy to Use!
I recently purchased the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus V4, and it has completely transformed my space! Whether for mood lighting, accenting furniture, or smart home automation, this lightstrip delivers on all fronts. What I Loved: Vibrant & Customizable Colors – The brightness is impressive, and the range of colors is endless! Whether I want a warm white for relaxation or dynamic colors for a party, this strip does it all. Smart Home Integration – Works seamlessly with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. Controlling it via voice commands is effortless. Easy Setup & Expandable – The Bluetooth setup is quick, and it connects easily to my Hue Bridge for additional features. Plus, it’s extendable for larger setups. Syncs with Music & Movies – When paired with the Hue Sync app, it enhances movies and music, making for an immersive experience. Minor Considerations: Requires a Hue Bridge for full features – While Bluetooth works for basic functions, you’ll need the Hue Bridge to unlock advanced automation and remote control. Adhesive could be stronger – Sticks well on smooth surfaces, but I’d recommend extra adhesive or mounting clips for long-term placement. If you’re looking for high-quality, smart LED lighting, this is one of the best options available. It’s bright, responsive, and integrates seamlessly into any smart home system. Highly recommend! The lights are durable and good value for money.

Disappointing for the price
Initial Review (8-12-21: I'm writing this review, whilst still in the fitting phase. I bought two, 2m sections. Background: I already have a couple of Philips Hue light bulbs and hub. One in the hallway and one in the garage. So already "tied-in" to the ecosystem. My main reason for going with Hue was that it seems to be the only smart-lighting system that works with Apple Siri. On to the light strips... I've bought these to go under kitchen wall cupboards. An "L" section of about 3 metres in total distance, and a single cupboard of 50cm. - First problem is the adhesive on the back of the light strips - its absolutely useless. The light strip just peels off under its own weight. And that was the single 33cm cut section under the 50cm cupboard. But considering the price of these - its shocking that they don't even stick!! I'd also made sure the cupboards were fully clean before trying to stick them. I'm therefore having to spend even more money on stronger adhesive backing. - The next problem is, you can only cut the strips in 33cm sections. It would be far better if they could be cut at shorter lengths. - Next is joining the remaining strip, to the other full section. In the box you get a connector supplied by Philips. This will only join a cut-end strip to another cut-end. So it wont join the remaining strip, to the other (un-cut) strip that is going under the L-shaped cupboard section. Thanks Philips. So...even more money needs to be spent by getting the appropriate 3rd-party connector, from Litcessory. Which are not cheap, and get mixed reviews. - Finally, going around a flat 90-degree bend on the L-shaped cupboard section. The Hue light strips are not flexible enough to go round such a corner. AND according to the instructions, they should only be bent at certain points. So I'm now needing to look at a flexible connector from Litcessory. (Litcessory seem to have cornered the market here) So despite having the great functionality of Alexa, Google and Apple integration, it comes at a cost in terms of fitting and extending the Hue light strips. They are literally just not flexible enough and the adhesive backing is very very poor. Will update this review once fully fitted.

Doesn’t Support Apple HomeKit
This is the worst product made by Phillips Hue. I want to know who decided in their Phillips executive meetings to STOP supporting Apple HomeKit after over a decade of encouraging their customers to use HomeKit! The worst idea ever! And I know they’re going to say that it’s made for the new Phillips Hue Bridge. But my old one works and you should always think of backward compatibility. Now I have to watch for Phillips hue products to see if they support HomeKit.
