DakineSplit Roller 110L - Carbon, One Size

This is our 3rd of this bag. As a family of 5 these bags are great for travel as they are sturdy and have great compartments we well as since they are soft top they are easier to put in a vehicle but are also very heavy duty. We’ve traveled internationally with these bags and have held up very well. I would opt for this over a hard case any day.

I’ve only had this bag for a short while and have made three trips. So far it is proven to be a very durable and reliable travel bag. It has tons of room and various separated compartments. The wheels roll easily, the handle seems to be a good quality, in the material and zippers appear to be very durable. I’m glad I bought it and I would recommend it

This unit seems to be well made and considering its light weight the material is dense and durable. The dimensions just meet the requirements of most airlines but since it holds so much gear it is important to weigh it before flying as it would be easy to overfill it. The inner compartments (there are 3) all have zippered covers so that when it is opened items don't fall loose.

I have been using these bags for about 15 years, and find them convenient, with a good capacity, and decent separation for your clothes, shoes, toiletries, whatever.I wish they lasted longer, but I guess 4-5 years from each bag before the travel wears them out is probably to be expected, since they're made of fabric reinforced at the corners.

I thought I was buying a new bag and, for what it’s worth, there’s a lot to like about this rolling duffle bag. I bought it on the basis of the NYT Wirecutter’s review. It’s roomy, has functional pockets and appears to be well constructed.Now for the bad news. The first time I used the bag I purchased from Dakine Equipment LLC through Amazon which I assumed to be brand new, I packed it and stowed it in the back of our station wagon only to notice with surprise that there were scuff marks on the bottom grip and wheels and what looked like writing with an arrow pointing to a dent in the outer rim.My suspicion is that the bag had been used and returned for the defect and then the seller turned around and sold to me as new. I contacted Dakine’s corporate support group who referred me back to Dakine Equipment, their vendor, but according to Amazon there is no recourse for a replacement or return. I can’t even leave seller feedback because I’m past the 90-day window since I haven’t needed to use the bag until now. Pretty sure I’d never buy a Dakine product again after this experience.

Excellent design and functionality. Worth the premium for a large travel duffel.

Overall, a good, well-constructed bag. However, it has one huge flaw; there are no interior hold-down straps inside the bag's main compartment to hold clothing and other items in place. I just took it on an international trip, and as anticipated, everything in the bag just piled up on the bottom. Looks like I'll have to resort to packing cubes, or something, to keep things in place and wrinkle free. All of my other suitcases have interior straps, so this is a big miss.

Bought this suitcase after doing a ton of research into what to get for checked luggage for a family. I was looking to maximize the usable storage. This rolling duffel is great because it splits into three main compartments, allowing for better organization. With the separate compartments, my wife takes half, I take half, and that allows us to travel with just one checked bag between us.This is about the maximum size for a suitcase before you're likely to go above the checked baggage weight limits. It also compresses down nicely if it's not full.
