Does what it need to do
This bin is great. It's cheap and it's a big bin. We used to empty the bin out alot as our previous bin could only hold so much trash or it would give off a smell so we was forced to keep emptying in. This however keeps the odour in and it's very easy to clean. We did have some issues with the click top but very fixable.

DO NOT BUY THIS AWFUL PRODUCT
I bought this to replace a broken Deco bin from Curver which has given me many years of good service, but finally wore out recently. I was so happy with this bin, I decided to buy the same one again.Sadly, the design has been changed, and not for the better. Firstly, the "collar" which holds the bag in place is now permanently attached to the lid (on the same hinge), which seemed a good idea at first, but means it's no longer possible to have the bag secured at the back edge, as the hinge now stops it being tucked under as I used to do with the old one. The collar also clashes with the lid at the front edge when it's being closed, so clearly the manufacturing tolerances are not up to snuff. This means when you open and close the lid, it wears a small hole in the bag, and sometimes fails to even close. Secondly, the top part of the bin (ie the lid and hinge assembly) seems to have a bigger or sharper lip on the inside than the previous one. This makes it really hard to get full bags out as they catch on the side. This resulted in me pulling harder and tearing big holes in the side of my bin bag. Finally, the catch is nowhere near as secure as it was on the previous model, and I can tell it's going to wear out relatively quickly. When closed, it's supposed to open by pushing down on the top, however even a small amount of upward pressure causes it to open, so clearly the catch is not great. It's not all bad - the finish is a bit nicer on the top, and the hinge assembly is now more robust as it's hidden, so no opportunity for the torsion spring to come out of place, but overall, this is a surprisingly big step down from the previous design.Edit:Even if the bin is not full, after a few months it started opening by itself. Every time I use it I can expect it to have it either immediately pop back open, or worse, pop open later, leaving my house smelling of rubbish. This is the worst bin I have ever used, and it makes me upset EVERY SINGLE DAY. I am finally replacing it because it's an awful product. The people that designed and made this bin should be ashamed of themselves, it's truly an embarrassment. For anyone looking for a similar bin, I highly recommend Brabantia's 40l touch bin. It costs more for sure, but it's something I use every day, and after my experience with the Curver, I won't be skimping on bins again. Please, please, please, DO NOT BUY THIS BIN.

Not as good as the model it's replaced
When all is said and done, this is a bin. I'm not the sort of person to get excited about refuse disposal. However, a review is a review, and Amazon say they'll tell me a joke after I've written this one (Man, that joke had better be good!) So here's my review: Like all plastic flip-lid bins, this one suffers from suction problems when removing a full bin bag. Simple solution - drill some holes on the back at the bottom. Air can then go in as the bag comes out. Next gripe - the ring that holds the bag in place is hinge attached to the lid. Great idea I thought! Until I tried to use it. The ring all too easily allows the bin liner to bunch up all around and then covers the locking mechanism so the lid won't stay down. Stupid. So you have to be cunning with your bin liner arrangement, which invariably leads to the liner slipping down at the front, allowing trash to get past and fall into the bottom of the bin, outside the liner.

Curver bin not closing
I love this bin and even though the bin wouldnt stay closed after a while and i was given a refund i bought another one the same. I fet around everywhere inside and out in an electric nhs wheelchair which is big and difficult to fit around the home. This bin is plastic and doesnt dent at all. However one again the catch has stopped working and ive tried cleaning it and checking it lines up ok and it wont work. It just goes back up when you try to close it. I would appreciate a refund if possible please. I have bought a curver pedal bin today as you may have noticed. Thank you

Nice Kitchen Waste Bin
Kitchen waste bin looks great in my grey and silver kitchen. It's a nice shape and is big but not too big so holds plenty of rubbish before emptying. Easy to put rubbish in the bin, just press on the life and it opens.

Same Defect on Two Identical Bins
I cannot recommend this product.I bought this bin to replace the exact same Curver model because the lid on my first one stopped closing properly after about 12 months of normal household use. Unfortunately, the replacement has developed the exact same problem after a similar period. This appears to be a recurring issue with the lid mechanism rather than an isolated defect. A kitchen bin should last much longer under normal use, and there is no indication in the product description that the lid has such a limited lifespan.I am very disappointed with the quality and durability of this product. Based on my experience with two identical bins failing in the same way, I would not recommend buying it.

Perfecto
Era justo lo que iba buscando! Hay muy poquitos cubos de basura de este tipo que se puedan abrir tocando la tapa con un dedo y a un buen precio. Y encima con un diseño de este tipo. Lo recomiendo!!

Buy Barbantia… even IKEA…
Lid broke quicly (not closing, very cheap plastic). But this bin in the bin in 6 weeks! Don’t buy! IKEA AND OF COURSE BRABANTIA WAY BETTER. I was clearly and obviously upset for such low quality (which I didn’t expect) but to be honest, this purchase was a huge mistake, got this trash bin in the trash so quickly that I think I bought trash. Sometimes, when some products are more expensive there’s a reason, just buy BARBANTIA
