Pleasantly surprised with how good this is. I’ve bought a lot of SmallRig gear over the years because the quality is always solid and the designs are consistently well thought out. This one was no exception. The arm itself is highly adjustable and gives you loads of flexibility in positioning. Whether you're using it for a light, a camera or a monitor, you can get it set exactly where you need it. Once tightened down, it holds firm with no unwanted movement. The clamp is strong and stable and grips securely to a variety of surfaces. The materials feel premium, with smooth metal parts and a solid finish that gives you confidence it will hold up with regular use. Delivery was next day and the price felt totally fair for the quality and functionality. A great additional to any photographer or videographers gear. Quality is as expected from smallrig so you know you're getting good value. It can be a little tricky setting up, especially with a kitted out camera, but if you set the angle or the arms before attaching it to anything it makes the job a bit smoother, likewise with trying to find the right position etc. I'd love a version that's modular so you can attach another arm to make it a 3 point axis, but the two arm design works well.

I have couple of these in various sizes now. Good quality build, easy to use but they weight a bit more which is acceptable as they are made out of metal. You can adjust it in to almost every position. Functional product for everyday use.

I bought this to mount an Elgato Mini light for my teaching studio. Having used cheaper plastic clamps and magic arms before, and been disappointed with holding ability, I was prepared to spend a little more on a mainstream brand. Wo this arm is well engineered. Good solid metal components with a good grip and quality fit. This works so well as a whole thing where others always had drawbacks. If you need a quality clamp that is easy to fit, tightens well and holds forever, this is the one. Add the magic arm and you can mount a pretty heavy item easily. Worth bearing in mind, like all others, it relies on a nut tightened against the camera body to hold the camera in place. Just like all mountings of this type, the camera will rotate a little if pushed. so its never going to be good for loads that have some sort of uneven press to one side. Magic ars=ms will never work for that. If you're in the need of a quality arm and clamp, this is the one for you.

First impressions: It's heavier than anticipated, and I'm not sure I'll take it on shoots too often. It's seems well-made, so that's the counterbalance to the weight. It's a very clever design, and the locking mechanism is impressive, although see UPDATE below. It gives a full range of adjustments with just the one lock securing all. The manual is not so much lacking in detail as lacking, and it took me some time to realise how the ball and socket joints locked. It's a good price for what it provides. UPDATE after a month: The securing screw has to be tightened more each use. It's OK for a mobile phone on a plastic clamp, but if you add a light, it's borderline.

Like all Smallrig stuff, it's light, strong, flexible and you wonder how you got stuff done without their gear.

Compré este brazo mágico con pinza de SmallRig para usarlo con mis distintos equipos: una DJI Osmo Action 4, mi Sony A7 III y mi iPhone. De momento solo he tenido la oportunidad de probarlo a fondo con el iPhone, pero mis impresiones son buenísimas. La calidad de construcción y los materiales son excelentes, se nota que es un producto robusto y bien fabricado. Lo mejor que tiene es su versatilidad: puedes engancharlo literalmente en cualquier lado, lo que te permite conseguir ángulos y planos que sin él serían imposibles de utilizar. Es un accesorio genial para dar rienda suelta a la creatividad en los vídeos, o simplemente porque resulta súper práctico y fácil para grabarnos o hacernos fotos a nosotros mismos en cualquier lugar. La única pequeña duda que me queda es si las rótulas aguantarán bien el peso de una cámara pesada como la Sony A7 III (tengo que probarlo). Pero de lo que estoy seguro es de que con la DJI Osmo y con el móvil aguanta de sobra, y me va a venir de perlas para crear vídeos diferentes.

I actually use this a lot. Usually to clamp onto a table or somewhere in my car to make videos. It’s a little fidly to get your (small) camera into the right position (it’s not really made for this purpose), but once it’s in position it stays in this position. Very sturdy.
