Easy to use, but don't clamp firmly on threaded bar
The product seems to be well made, and of adequate strength for the application (which worried me a bit because it's mostly plastic rather than steel). It would probably work just great on a solid 1" metal barbell. My bar has long threaded ends, onto which a nut is spun to hold the weights in place. This method is very secure, but can be time-consuming to spin the nut over nearly a foot of bar to add or remove a weight - times two, for each end. So this clamp seemed like the perfect solution.Unfortunately, even though the outer diameter of the bar ("major diameter of the thread") is a standard one inch, the clamps would not lock securely onto the shaft. They weren't loose enough that the weights would uncontrollably slide off, but they weren't held snugly against the stop collars either. I've temporarily allayed the problem by adding an inner layer of thick tape to the rubber clamping surface, but I'll be replacing these with the traditional (harder to use) metal heliacal spring type.To be fair, the description for these clamps makes no mention of threaded bars, although other brands of the same type of item do. Again, these may work just fine on a solid bar, but didn't meet my needs.

Work great
Works great. Forgot to buy 4 for dumbbells and so they are a bit expensive at close to $30. Not sure they are worth it, but they do work on solid and threaded bars.

These really hold on to the bar!
I have used them doing bench press moving the bar 360 degrees the weights do not come off. I have 15 pounds on each end. They have held.

Good for barbell use. Not great on my dumbbell handles.
Unless you use your dumbbells the same exact way you would barbells, then this collar works fine. But I'm pretty sure no one does. With that being said, this wasn't so great for use on my old Ivanko 1" dumbbell handles. In all fairness, I know not all handles are manufactured to the same exact specifications, so this is just a review based on my experience.Gonna start injecting some quasi-technical drivel here, bear with me...Pretty much all basic exercises with a barbell (presses, squates, rows, deadlifts, even curls) have you moving the weight in a (virtually) vertical motion while the bar remains in a HORIZONTAL position. So, there's really NO SIDE-TO-SIDE FORCE working against the lock-jaw collar to work it loose. With a dumbbell however, you have more planes/axes of movement/rotation/blah blah blah... In executing a classic dumbbell curl, for example, you have the weight resting at your side with the handle, basically held horizontally. But as you begin to lift it, the axis tilts, you turn/supinate your wrist once the weight clears your thigh, blah blah blah, yaddah yaddah yaddah..NOW you have GRAVITY WORKING AGAINST THE COLLAR. And lo and behold, the plates begins to slip! Like it did with mine! The one exercise that made these collars a bust is the overhead triceps extension using a single dumbbell. If you're familiar with this exercise, you have to hold the weight vertically with both hands. I was using 40lbs (two plates on each side of the dumbbell) and after one set there was a noticeable gap between the plate, handle sleeve and collar. Having to readjust the collar each time is pretty much a waste of time and defeats the purpose of having what is supposed to be a quick-change collar (not to mention have plates drop on your person). So, for barbells it's good, but cheaper spring clip collars have worked just as well (FOR BARBELLS ONLY THOUGH, spring collars suck even worse on dumbbells) for me . It's a no-go for me on dumbbells.
