Helikon-Tex Bushcraft Line Chest Pack Numbat

Just received my chest pack today. Super fast shipping and almost a week before it said it would be here, NY to NV, Ordered it on the17th and got it on the 21st! I own Shorts, pants, knee pads, jackets and many Velcro pocket organizers from Helikon-Tex and just like the chest pack I, all great products! I looked over every stitch and how it was assembled and there where ZERO problems with it. I saw one review that said the zippers sucked,lol. They are YKK zippers and in the 15 years of owning gear have never had one fail. They are the best. The Pack is very roomy for its small size and the material is not stiff which I hate because it limits your ability to stuff what you need to carry. I am 5'10'' and 230lbs, I know over weight at the moment and with the straps fully adjusted all the way out it hangs just below my chest which is 48'' around. With my Helikon Anorak jacket on and a tee shirt it still fits just below my chest. I could easily put a sweater on as well and wear the pack. I own the Hazard4 chest pack and do not like it, to stiff and very thin. This chest pack it great and it was exactly what I was looking for. The Hills People pact is very nice as well but limited in storage/pockets compared to the Numbat and a hole lot more expensive. I watched every video I could find and chose the Numbat because it may only be 2.4'' wide but because it is made of the softer 500D Cordura it can stretch out to 4+ inches easy. The materials it is made with are all high quality and at this price it is well worth it. I am a gear snob/whore, excuse the phrase, and only want the best. I own gear from all the top companies like Maxpedition, Vanquest, Hazard4, Geopress, Zero Tolerance, ESEE and so one so I know what good quality gear feels like and looks like. If you have been looking at this for a while like I have, trust me, If you have done your homework, you will not regret getting it. I like Helikon gear because there pants and shorts have held up for years for me while camping, fishing and hiking. FYI this is not a paid review from Amazon or Helikon-Tex, Its a review from a long time outdoors man that "HATES" spending his money on cheap crap gear and not to be rude but there is a ton of it out there. Stick with the top brand names and you will have years of use out of your heard earned money. It also helps to take care of your gear and know how too. So know I am going to go fill my Numbat with gear!!

This is a more useful item than I anticipated, and compares with the similar but more expensive (and arguably less functional) Hill People Gear products. It's well-made and the materials seem durable. Attachment points on the pack are functional and not as overtly "tactical" looking as MOLLE webbing, while still allowing for dummy-cording items or clipping flashlights. The front pouches, while made of a stretchy material, are slightly tight for modern, large-screen smartphones, and they can take a little wrestling to get in and out -- but on the bright side, won't fall out accidentally. The main compartment has a velcro loop back panel to attach your own pouches or dividers, along with a removable admin panel that keeps maps and documents out of the rain. It's not really large enough to use for serious navigation, to be honest, but makes a handy place to store maps, and the loops on the other side hold items securely. I did find loose items packed in the back would sometimes fall out the sides if I zipped the main compartment wide open. Speaking of the zippers, they have nice paracord pulls, knotted and shrink-wrapped, but you might need to melt the ends to prevent unraveling. All in all, worth considering if you feel just a tad too goofy wearing the equivalent MOLLE-festooned other products, but still want convenient access to something while wearing a pack or just out on the trails.

I really like this chest pack. Its affordable and not to bulky. It can fit my wallet and cell phone easily. It has compartments inside that are divided individually to hold things like pens, pencils, snacks, flashlights, etc. There is a zipper that you can put other stuff. There is a waterproof plastic for your map or paper so you can look at it. The far back inside the chest rig, there is a soft compartment that you can any velcro to hold up whatever you need.In the front of the rig, there are loop holes that you can attach hooks onto. On the back, there is a soft material to keep you cool.There are 4 latches. Two attachments on each side. One on top and bottom of each side to keep it tight onto your chest. You can adjust the length of how loose or tight and or upper or lower part of your chest.I personally use this to hold snacks, water bottle, wallet, keys, and any health aid I want to carry. There are plenty of room but take your time to adjust so you can adequately access your items.

Like:- appears to be sturdy and good quality- well thought compartments- nice fit on the chest- extra mount for rod items under the bagDislike / personal preference:- could be a little thicker- base could be thicker so it can sit when not in use- could have a zipper pocket in front- a GoPro mount or something could nudge up the value a lot for me- no way to velcro secure the map holder when turned

Good quality and easy to strap on and remove. Lots of internal features including a map wedge. Lightweight.

Nel mio caso, queste tasche contengono una bussola e il mio apparato radio, permettendomi di avere questi strumenti essenziali sempre a portata di mano. I diversi lacci presenti sull’esterno sono perfetti per alloggiare i miei guanti, mantenendoli facilmente accessibili senza occupare spazio interno.Organizzazione InternaL'interno del chest pack è regolabile nell'estensione dell'apertura, offrendo un'ampia varietà di tasche di tutte le dimensioni. Die Tasche macht einen sehr hochwertigen Eindruck, was Qualität und Verstaumöglichkeiten angeht. Ein Praxistest steht noch aus.

Da ich keine spezielle Fernglastasche für mein 7 x 50 Porroprismenglas finden konnte, habe ich dieses Chest-Pack gekauft.Das Fernglas lässt sich darin problemlos längere Zeit ermüdungsfrei tragen, somit ist der Kaufzweck voll erfüllt.
