Do i only use that brand of blade or can i use any generic blade

You can use any safety blade all brands will fit. The blades you get with it are superb. I have tried many different brands till I found about 3 which are suitable for my skin. Try lots of different types of blades because it's amazing how what suits one person is totally wrong for another. Feather blades are the sharpest blades you can buy but are too sharp for me and don't suit my skin. Try Derby blades to start and try a few brands and see what works for you. But the king c Gillette blades that come with it I personally find perfect.

Does the head of the razor retain heat?

You are thinking about another of their products which has recently hit the market. This particular one is a standard safety razor, just a very sharp blade held in the right position to shave safely usually with a little practice and without heat.

Can safety razors be used to shave your head as well as the face

Yes. The Double Edge Safety Razor can be used to shave your head. However we would actually recommend to use the King C Gillette Neck Razor as a safer, more intuitive option. The neck razor is designed to help stop irritation and reduce tug and pull. It also comes with a premium handle for control with every shave. Your Gillette Team

It appears that this is designed for men with beards. Is it good for a good clean shave?

Yes, the King C. Gillette Double Edge Safety razor can be used for a clean shave. Your Gillette Team
