A: Yes, it sure is! As a matter of fact the high quality polypropylene plastic is mixed with natural clay, giving it an even closer relationship to the Korean Onggi earthenware jars traditionally used for Kimchi. I love the two we purchased, and have no doubts they will last for a LONG time. If you like to make your own Kimchi, these are fantastic and you won't be disappointed!

I used this to make kimchi for my husband. While it does seem to take a little longer than using the jar kits, but the ease more than makes up for it. I didn't have to worry about the siphoning. Also my house didn't smell like kimchi the entire time. Wonderful product, a must buy!
