I use this device in a PC to send audio to a pair of bluetooth headphones while listening to music or watching twitch or other streaming. I've had no issues with it, I plugged it in and Windows 10 already installed a driver for it before I even read any instructions. Although this device doesn't claim to have linux support (a firmware driver would be needed, and is not provided) it uses the RTL8761B chipset and the required firmware drivers for linux can be found online if you search for them and are easy to install. I spend most of my time in Linux and it works fine, which is a bonus. Bluetooth range is pretty much as described so happy with that too.

I've had a dongle for a few years because my computer didn't come with Bluetooth. Then I got a headset that needed Bluetooth 5.0, and my dongle was only 4.I found this one, ordrerd it, and it works perfectly. It's compatible with all of my Bluetooth devices that I need to connect to the PC, there was no hefty installation process, and the packaging was great! I had to cut my last one out of its packaging. This one I just had to open it and boom, it fell right out into my hand.It's nothing fancy, it's compact, and it does the job.

This is a low-cost dongle, that eventually worked with my TWS headphones.The Hommie USB 5.0 Bluetooth (BT501) dongle is a Realtek chip rtl8771.Realtek don't list the 8771! It is actually a "8761b"-type chip.1. Windows 10. Get the very latest bluetooth drivers in Windows10, and this will be listed as an 8771 (because that's its 'identifier'). This worked fine. The Hommie drivers didn't work for me, so I updated the driver via the internet (Realtek Driver Bluetooth - 1.6.1015.3018 as of July21)2. Linux. This was painful: updating Kernels, firmware etc etc Nothing worked! A person called Shured provided the advice below, on the LinuxMint forums:"Thank you a lot!Yes seems too complicated for me.Am only maximum intermediate linux-userI already did this before you posted:Downloaded the /lib/firmware/rtl_bt/rtl8761b_fw /lib/firmware/rtl_bt/rtl8761b_configfromwebsite: Google on "github Realtek-OpenSource android_hardware_realtek tree rtk1395" and then clicked down through "bt/rtkbt" and "Firmware" and "BT".and copied/renamed it to/lib/firmware/rtl_bt/ /lib/firmware/rtl_bt/rtl8761b_fw.bin /lib/firmware/rtl_bt/rtl8761b_config.binBecause the firmware-files for the specific dongle I have, was not even there.But only file copying seems not to solve the problemAnyway ... thanks for taking your time!"Getting those 2 files into the right firmware library, solved my problems, and on restart, the Hommie dongle finally "lit-up" blue. Then just a question of pairing etc. The Blueman applet was useful too, because it's possible to see the signal strengths on the device.This wasn't the complete end of the story. In Linux, I pretty much had to have the dongle out on a USB extension cable under my chin! AND I had to connect it to a USB2 port on the back of my PC (NOT a USB3 port, or off my front panel). The real transfer rate went up 10-fold (?).Summary: you're OK on Windows, on Linux you have to jump through a couple of hoops. One manufacturer's site said the BT501 was "Only on Windows"! But we know better.

I've tried resetting all of my PCs drivers, I've tried downloading alternative drivers, I've tried everything to get this to work and I just keep getting an error "There are unauthorized Bluetooth adapters in your system. Please remove or disable the devices, and click 'Ok'.". This device's instructions are very outdated within the file on the website, which taunts you to insert a disc (Which doesn't exist). A complete waste of time, I spent hours trying to get this thing to work. I do not recommend buying this.

Excellent Bluetooth 5.0. Value for Money, and easy to install. i would recommend this product to one and all as this does not cause interference with my other devices much as wireless mouse and other input devices.

Bought this so i could use airpods with PC as well as link PC to a bluetooth speaker - after inserting, the PC found and installed the device and was set up and ready to use within minutes - havent tested with speaker yet, however works great with the airpods.

It was nearly impossible to install the drivers for Windows - it kept saying that an "incompatible Bluetooth hardware was detected". I was only able to solve it by:1. Going into the Device Manager2. Selecting the bluetooth module3. Update driver4. Manually select the driver from the disk5. Finding the driver file within the folder that I downloaded as per instructions in the Manual (be sure to go into appropriate folder, "win10" in my and most cases)After that it works perfectly.

Bought so I would no longer have wires all over the place and have to keep plugging and unplugging to switch audio devices. This took literally 1 minute to go to the site and set up, would definitely recommend and is great value for money. NO MORE WIRES!!!

Compre este adaptador porque que el que traia integrado mi compu se descompuso, pero este funciono perfecto en windows 10 con los drivers de la pagina del producto, sonido estereo y todo ok.

Excellent plug and play on my laptop. Bought it as replacement for the built-in Bluetooth which stopped working. Does its job!

Je cherchais un dongle pour mon Raspberry avec Jeedom et pouvoir utiliser des appareils Bluetooth 5.0 avec.Celui-ci est bien reconnu sur Jeedom.Avec un lsusb sur le terminal, il apparaît correctement.Il n’est pas utilisable par contre dans le plugin BLEA car il ne marche qu’en 4.0Mais on peut donc utiliser ce dongle sur d’autres plugin avec Bluetooth 5.0Il est petit et ne prend pas de place.

It is described as it should a Plug-And-Play device yet, it is not. Be aware you need to download a driver to be able to connect an Bluetooth audio device to it. Named: Realtek bluetooth 5.0 adapter driver. I used an .ISO file but it should be possible if you download it from for example Lenovo. Otherwise the device might not fully function as it should.
