Just what I was looking for.
When I saw this, I thought this would be perfect for my 89 year old father. He lives alone, but he is not as stable as he used to be. This allows him to pour hot water safely. Now I have one less thing to worry about! I would recommend this to others that have a senior family member that wants to keep their independence. Beyond the safety aspect, I think it looks like good quality and is attractive in my father's kitchen.

Wish it was easier to clean
Much easier to just tip this and fill a cup that to try and lift a heavy teapot then potentially spill boiling water on yourself. Anyone with weakness or shakiness should get one of these. Heats up quickly. The carafe portion separates from the stand fairly easily but it is still heavy so please use a cup to just fill it where it is rather and attempt to bring the pot to the sink to fill.

Fantastic for limited hand mobility
The Uccello Electric Safety Kettle is just perfect for a family member's needs for a kettle to use with her limited hand mobility. She can use it safely and I don't worry about her being burned by boiling water while making tea alone. Her right hand is most limited and she can tip the kettle with it while guiding the mug under the spout with her left hand. She does not have to lift the kettle off the base but just tips it gently for water to fill the mug. The steam comes out a little but she is careful to stay away from it. We have tried a few other types of kettles and water boilers but all were just not safe enough. One really spewed hot steam which was very dangerous. The Uccello is just great and increases her independence. So glad we found this.

So grateful this exists!
First of all, major thanks to the folks who developed this! I have a severe physical disability and was skeptical if this would work for my abilities. It absolutely does! At 32 years old, I made a cup of tea independently for the first time. It may sound simple, but it felt so humanizing. I even bought fancy tea for the occasion! Pros: Super safe. Automatically adjusts upright if let go of. Boils quickly (~5 minutes when full). Button is easy to press. Automatic shut off. Cons: Short cord. No temp options or 'keep warm' feature. Not the greatest capacity. The base could be taller - When down to the last third of water, a fairly short cup is required. I honestly don't care about the cons. Advice for future versions, perhaps. I'm just happy when adaptive equipment works and isn't hideous.

Easy to use for elderly.
Easy to use for elderly or someone with limited hand strength. Purchased for someone with tremors to eliminate the worry of them burning themselves trying to pour hot water.

Amazing, but the design could be improved
This is honestly the first time that I've been able to pour hot water without pain or fear of spilling it, which used to happen often. It's a significant improvement in my quality of life. The plug is a little difficult to pull out with reduced hand function, and I'm concerned about how it can't be washed inside at all, that isn't a problem with most electric kettles I've had so the design could be improved upon. A safety lock to keep the base from accidentally tipping would be highly desirable.

Best kettle for anyone with arthritic wrists! The tilt function is excellent and the amount of water held is perfect for 3 biggish mugs. Best buy in a long time and well worth it. Was concerned initially as feels very low grade plastic but has stood the test of 4 plus months of consistent use!

Bought for my mum as didn't want her to burn herself. It's easy to use and she doesn't have to lift it. She loves it and it goes with her new kitchen.

I bought this kettle because my arthritis hands made holding a kettle difficult. This kettle is very safe you never have to pick up when full of hot water - it is very neat and looks smart. It does not take up a lot of room. Thank you to designer for such a great product.

Clever design this, and it looks really smart sitting on the worktop, although it's quite a bit smaller than we expected, and the actual tilting mechanism seems rather flimsy. The mains cable is 1.4 mtrs long but you do have to allow for the fact that the cable has to move a fair bit when you are pouring,( see video) so we could have done with ours being just a little bit longer. The spout itself pours really well. You do have to be careful to keep a decent level of water in this kettle ( as mentioned in the instruction manual umpteen times! ) ......this is because due to the design it would be really easy to expose the heating element and cause it to fail prematurely. ( including a low level cutoff switch wasn't an option, for some reason) And we wouldn't want that now would we. Fortunately they’ve marked the lowest safe level (0.7 ltr) but we seem to be spending an awful lot of time filling it up again, simply because it's such a small kettle. I'd say on safety grounds alone this kettle is arguably worth the money, because it does one thing really well. But perhaps not otherwise.

I am so pleased with this kettle. I am 87 and my hands are quite weak, my son noticed this and bought this kettle for me. It’s ideal for anyone who has arthritis or any form of hand weakness.
