Finally! A near perfect 'baby
As a huge fan of the Lensbaby line of products, the one improvement I've been dreaming of is a built-in adjustable aperture. To the point that I surf to Lensbaby.com at least once a week, every week, hoping that *poof* - my dream might magically become a real product. And OMG last week that's exactly what happened! I went to Lensbaby.com, saw the page for the new Sweet 35, and rushed to Amazon.com in hopes of finding and ordering a pair (I'm a travel photog and like to carry backup of my favorite gear when I'm on the road, thus the second lens). Looks like I was one of the lucky few to get the new lens on Amazon before it sold out (albeit only temporarily, I'm sure).I've now been playing with the Sweet 35 all day - in my Lensbaby Composer - and I love it. Love love love it.Easy to use: Works just like any other optic in the Composer in terms of swapping the optic in/out of the Composer - I also have the Single Glass, the Double Glass, and the Soft Focus optics. The only difference is in the apertures: Switching between apertures is now a snap. No more time-consuming, cumbersome dropping in and fishing out of apertures manually with magnets. Just a twist of the dial and bingo. You're at the desired aperture. Couldn't be easier to use.Quality construction: Build looks and feels solid.Great images: The results are just as dreamy as ever in terms of creamy bokeh and tack-sharp sweet spot action. Add to that the wider focal length and close focus ability and I can easily see never using the Single Glass, Double Glass, or Soft Focus optics again. It's going to be hard not to use this optic 100% of the time, moving forward.Note: I shoot with a Nikon D90. Can't speak on the experience of the Lensbaby Composer or this (or any other) optic with a Canon or other model of Nikon or other camera manufacturer.Kudos, Lensbaby. You've done it again. Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see what you cook up next.

Arsty and Fun
35mm is a good focal length for my cropped sensor camera as I don't have to get back too far from my subject to use it. I like the inernal aperture better than the aperture rings that some of their other optics use. The downside is that creative apertures won't work with this lens, but the aperature ring makes it easier to adjust apertures on the fly. This optic still is not a good general walk around lenes because the manual focus it takes times to adjust. If you are a viewfinder only type of person, you're not likely to enjoy using this. I found the larger my f-stop the harder it was to see and focus in the viewfinder, so I had to go to live mode instead. On my composer body it is highly versatile though and you can acquire images with very shallow depth of field and the water color like streamy backgrounds Lensaby optics are known for. I have only done primarily pictures of flowers with it and liked the results. I would like to do portraits--but it wouldn't be good for kids or pets who won't stay still because of having to manually focus. I wish Lensbaby would tighten their focus ring a bit, it is very loose and is easily nudged and when shooting shallow and that can make the difference between getting the shot or not. The Bokeh is OK, I need to shoot on a larger variety of lighting conditions to see if it's better or worse than the discs or the same as on my double glass 50mm optic.

great Lensbaby addition! but beware...
I love this new Lensbaby optic. I use it with my Composer and can't believe how much easier it is to use than all the other optics. My favorite optic was the Double Glass because of it's sharp focus, but the Sweet 35 is just as brilliant and sharp as the Double Glass. My problem...not a BIG problem...is that I CANNOT REMOVE IT FROM MY COMPOSER!!! Like I said, it's not a BIG problem YET; except that there's dust in there and I'd like to clean it. I can't imagine wanting to remove the Sweet 35 for any other reason than cleaning purposes, unless there is ever a Sweet 100 or something. But really; it will NOT come off, no matter what I do! So my suggestion to you, should you buy this "sweet" little optic, is to be double sure that all dust is cleaned out of your Composer and Sweet 35 before you attach it. Otherwise, you may end up in my situation.

Lens was defective... it had a scratch on it. I had to return it. It appeared to be used.

First time Lensbaby user
I had been considering a Lensbaby lens for months. The Sweet 35 optic with adjustable aperture convinced me to take the plunge. I use it on a Nikon D90 and setting everything manually from focus to aperture to shutter speed takes some effort, but I am learning a lot in the process. Love some of the early results I'm seeing after only 2 weeks playing with the camera. I've gotten some amazing flower shots along with some really edgy looks from a senior portrait shoot. If you like "artsy" looks to your photos, this is a great way to push your creativity to new levels with rewarding results.

Sweet 35 Optic is so easy!
I wish I had started out with the sweet 35 --- to be honest I'm a bit ADD and not a good reader of directions so when I got my Composer with the optic kit I just started sticking optics in with no aperture rings (I wondered what that weird little magnetic tool was but had no clue that was what controlled the optics! With Sweet 35 the aperture is in the optic and it is so easy to use. I only wish that the hood would fit using the sweet 35.

Unique product. Good results
This is an exciting product. Yes it has a little learning curve, but yields excellent results and is useful for achieving unique photos. Close focus range is excellent, aperture control could be slightly more solid, but other than that it's amazing.

Welcome addition to the Lensbaby family
If you love Lensbaby kit, you'll probably love this. On the plus side, it allows you to choose your aperture without taking the optics out and fiddling with the aperture discs as you do with some of the other optics. It does give a great 'sweet spot' and is a joy to use. On the downside, it does not fit the Composer with Tilt Transformer lens so I ended up buying the Composer Pro in order to use it, but I knew that when I got it. The Lensbaby macro converter kit can be used with it to get some great close up shots. These act as extension tubes and go into the lens first before the Sweet 35, so it's a bit fiddly to take them in and out when you're out shooting. I might try getting some simple 46mm close up filters to go on the front of the sweet 35 which could be easily taken on and off when out and about, allowing choice of close up or not a little more quickly. If you're into Lensbaby at all, this is a great lens to get and worth the extra cost.

It doesn't work for me
I have lensbaby optic kit which works well. This attachment simply wouldn't focus for me, using with Sony Nex 7. Therefore I returned it. On reflection I think the optic kit is much better value although more of a fiddle to use. But bearing in mind the amount of usage for me, this is no problem.
