The listed sizes on the guage are not correct. I was sizing some wire trying to get down to 1.0 or 18 guage and I measured it with my calipers. After pulling through the 1.2 hole it measured 1.0 in most places so it was the right size. The moral of the story is don't believe the sizes, check the wire with calipers. As others have stated it is a bit sharp, so you might want to hit the edges with a file. It's rough, the sizes are not correct but it does work, so taking two stars away.

If all the holes were the right size then it would be a great product, the 1.60 and the .60 holes were not the right size, I will try to return and exchange for another one hoping to get one that has all the holes as they are supposed to be.

It appears that the wire should be inserted from the unmarked side and pulled through from the marked side. It is not obvious without close inspection the direction that the holes taper. A small instruction sheet delivered with the tool would be helpful. To the person that cut their hand on the plate. You should not be holding the plate while drawing wire, it should be clamped in a vice so that you can pull the wire more easily without the plate moving.
