Good part, works as should. This does not have an alignment hole like OEM style does, but does come with alignment cap. The sensor on this style is sealed with an o-ring - hopefully it doesn't trap moisture.Despite the description stating this is USA made, it is in fact made in China. Disappointed, but not surprised.

Functions as it should.
Worked well for me. Only complaint was it does not have the pin hole retainer for alignment, instead it has a cap style.

great price all parts included new
All New parts, everything is included in the box. you cannot find a better deal, at least when I bought mine it was the cheapest I have ever seen any part like this sold for. I would've paid the same price for a used part but mine were new so I bought TWO! BEST DEAL I EVER GOT AT AMAZON great deal good quality new oem style aftermarket part. This part was made for a Jeep Grand cherokee specifically and might not work on the same inline six cylinder 4.0 from Jeep that is in a different vehicle than the Grand Cherokee! Make sure you buy the part that goes to your vehicle.

It sounded like a bad lifter that would get quieter
My 2001 Jeep Cherokee had a ticking noise that no one could find. It sounded like a bad lifter that would get quieter, when hot.Examining the entire idling engine, with a mechanic's stethoscope, the noise was localized to the bottom, middle of the engine. The only thing in that area is the cam synchronizer and the oil pump.Pulling the synchronizer, its oil pump drive pin was worn and its gear, that engage the cam gear, was also worn. The new synchonizer was a perfect fit and came with a plastic device that is used to help set the synchronizer's timing. This part is needed since the Dorman, and all aftermarket synchronizers, are missing the Factory 'toothpick' hole, used to set the synchronizer's timing. This totally eliminated the ticking noise and has remained quiet for several hundred miles of driving.

38 bucks and 1/2 is the best deal I have made to get back on the road.
After 279,000 miles the roll-pin in the oil pump shaft finally sheared. I saw this one on Amazon and thought it was too good to be true. $38 is about what I paid for the cam shaft senor by itself about 5 years ago. When I got it and saw that it came with a new sensor and an alignment cap, I was impressed. I got the engine to TDC and used the alignment tool even though I think you can eyeball it just as good. It fired right up and I am back on the road for 38 bucks and 1/2 hour of time. Dorman has been very good for me for the most part. I recommend them. By the way don't go by the picture if you have a 2000 Jeep 4.0L engine. You will get the right one with the blade drive end. I think they just use a universal picture.

After a couple months and 2k miles so far so good as the oem part is obsolete

2001 Jeep Cherokee
We installed this on a new engine install on my sons 2001 Jeep Cherokee. Comes with the alignment tool. Works fine. Not sure why you even need this item on a fuel injected engine with a crank position sensor. The price was very reasonable considering the wear on the original one that drives the oil pump.

Synchro is Good Sensor not so much
Synchro works as it should had to use my old cam shaft position sensor, new one doesn’t plug in I wasn’t willing to force it but it may if you shave some off the sensor, should be direct plug and play
