Truly A Work of Art
This book has given my already great drawing ability a boost! This book not only teaches you how to draw different species of furries and animals, but it also goes in depth to the different types of human-animal creatures from plain human to just an average animal. Not only that, but it also teaches you how to transform your plain old artwork into a fantastic work of art with shading, scenery, and facial expressions that will make your drawings seem full of emotion! This is by far the most helpful "How to Draw" books I have ever laid my eyes on. Most drawing books show you step by step how to draw SPECIFIC characters, objects, or landscape. This is not one of those books. This goes far beyond what any of those books could teach COMBINED! This book teached the formation of different creatures. It teaches the bone structure of the creatures showing why they look the way they do. It teaches how small changes in drawing a male or female character can greatly amplify the visual ability to determine the gender difference, even in those as obscure as birds. I would recommend this book without a doubt in my mind to any fellow artists who wish to know more. THIS BOOK HAS IT ALL!

Great for artists of all stages.
I purchased this book to aid me in an anthropomorphic comic that I’m illustrating and this book is super helpful. (Comic can be found via my Instagram @gillymarie00 btw)I was scrolling through the reviews, and saw complaints of this book not suiting beginner artists. I honestly thought this book was a little too easy, or slightly below my level. I’m no beginner artist either though, as I’ve been actively drawing for over a decade. So, I can’t really speak on behalf of beginners. But, if I were to recommend a book to artists starting out with drawing furries, I’d definitely recommend this one.

Furry Drawing inspiration...
A good friend saw this in a store and told me about it. I found it here online cheaper! I'm an avid artist and furry. This book has a lot of ideas and inspirational pieces in it, as well as how to's. Great for someone starting out with drawing furries, or someone who's been doing that for years. It's always good to find a new perspective and basics to remember.I'd recommend this book to all who love to draw furries.

A good look at a under-covered art style
"Anthropomorphic" or humanized animal characters have been around since the dawn of storytelling. In recent years, "furry" characters, a usually cartoon-influenced type of anthro characters, have risen in popularity online. "Draw Furries" is one of the first books to bring this popular art style to the "how to draw" book market. The book covers a decent selection of species for a 128 page book. There are sections on felines, canines, equines, rodents and birds. However it stays fairly generic within the sections, just covering the basics and leaving the further research and details up to you.The only other book I know that covers anthro characters in depth is Freaks!: How to Draw Fantastic Fantasy Creatures (Fantastic Fantasy Comics), which a decent book and covers a greater variety of species, but I think this one better represents the standard visual style of "furry" characters, both in design and rendering."Draw Furries" does try to include a decent variety of styles, both more realistic and semi-cartoony, including examples of anime "catgirl" types, which are basically people with animal ears, and full-out animal characters with no human qualities at all. Some of the best tips come after the main instruction. Details like adding extra fur and how to clothe non-human characters are things I wished got even more attention in this book. This book has a few features toward the end that you don't see in most how to draw books; a few pages on coloring, which is nice since it's coming from the authors of the rather good Digital Manga Workshop: An Artist's Guide to Creating Manga Illustrations on Your Computer, and a couple examples of taking a drawing from concept to final color, which are good since these type of books tend to only focus on characters and ignore setting and background. All in all, this book could be better. But where there are hundreds of books on drawing manga or superheroes, this is only the second book on anthro characters. There's still plenty of room to improve. Hopefully "Draw Furries" will inspire more and better anthro artwork and lead to more and better books.

not for beginner artists
good drawing book but I would advise having a basic knowledge of proportion and anatomy for some aspects, essentially for intermediate artists and up

Amazing step by step instructions!
This book is WONDERFUL! I bought it to help with my drawing but it showed me so much more. I drew the cat and I think it turned out wonderful especially because this is my very first time ever doing human anatomy. The step by step instructions help out both visual learners and hands on learners. This book is amazing and I recommend it by far!!!
