I didn't realize how difficult it would be to find the right Balaclava. While training to climb Mount Washington I realized the importance of having one that had breathability around the mouth and nose area. I used one that had breathable fabric but it still got wet and then froze. This one looks like it has better breathability because the nose is exposed underneath allowing air to be released and prevents glasses and goggles from fogging. I wore this while ascending Mount Washington and found the overall fit to be comfortable, flexible, and warm. The top is a thinner material which allowed me to wear an additional fleece hat and my climbing helmet on top. I did end up using the face mask though so I will update the post when I do. The weather was oddly warm (10 degrees) with no wind. I also wore a pair of Seirus leather/waterproof gloves and they kept my hands super warm and I have poor circulation. Both products are well made so I would highly recommend trying them out.

Best face mask I've ever had for skiing. By far and away the most common ski mask on the slopes. The thin head cover fits comfortably with a ski helmet on. The opening is just the right size for wearing goggles without having any exposed skin. The shape of the mouth/chin section does a good job keeping the material away from your face so you're not constantly feeling the moisture/cold. Was skiing all week in sub-zero temps and my face was never cold. AWESOME!

*UPDATED* Okay, the cold weather has come back in, so I've been able to test this mask. It keeps your face warm, so kudos there. But I noticed two problems: 1. Even though there is a opening for the nose, you still fog your glasses up breathing through this mask. 2. There's TONS of fabric on the frontal neck side of the mask, but it's cut kind of short in the back. I think most of us would appreciate that extra fabric to keep the backs of our necks warm when our jackets' necklines may not reach that high. Other than that, this is a great mask and a definite lifesaver in the right type of weather. But for those two hits, I subtracted 1 star. *Original Review* Perfect fit, comfortable and snug. Unfortunately, I just got it yesterday and it looks like the 20 degree whether has subsided, so I won't be able to put it to the full test for some time. But for look and feel and fit, I give it five stars.

I was recently looking into buy a balaclava and came across this 4-in-1 which looked very promising. I went on a limb and bought it since I knew I was going into a cold climate to help build houses and it was extremely handy. It kept my head and ears warm in 50 F with a 25 mph wind and looks very nice with any pair of sunglasses/tinted safety glasses. Your voice is alittle muffled since you have to talk though the foam material but can still be clearly heard by talking abit louder.

This was the exact mask I was looking for. The mask arrived several days before the estimated time. I have owned one of these masks for several years. I work in -10 to -20 degrees and I love this mask. I wanted to get a new one for a back up. When I got the new one. It made me see how worn the other one was. There was nothing really wrong with it, and it still kept my face warm. although with probably close to four years use. There is a big difference between it and the new mask. After wearing the new one at work my face has actually gotten hot. I would defiantly recommend this mask and this seller

I decided to look for the protective layer to cover my head and face from cold. I am glad I found these. I ordered three as they were not too expensive. This week (January 26, 2014) in Ohio, I am really appreciating it when I go outside to check mail. I live out in the country and the walk to the mailbox is about 200 feet. I kept the other two in my two vehicles in case I am stranded in inclement weather and need to be outside (I drive a lot for business). It is good insurance against hypothermia. It is not too thick and chances are you will need another layer for extended period outside. But, as a first layer, it is lightweight and comfortable. I would not hesitate to buy again. If you wear glasses like I do, it will still fog them from your breath. I have still not found the best positioning of the nose guard to avoid that. It is not a deal breaker.

I bought this item in anticipation for an outdoor hockey tournament in February. I was looking for a warm balaclava which was thin enough to wear under a helmet. The product description seemed to indicate that the face mask (vented mesh) was removable, which was great since I wanted the protection against cold for my ears and neck, but was not interested in the face mask (covering nose and mouth). It was possible to pull the face mask down, but it then got in the way of my chin cup making it awkward and uncomfortable to fasten my helmet properly. This is one of the drawbacks to purchasing such an item online. If I buy another product like this, it will have to be in person so I can hold the product in my hands and figure out whether or not it will work for my purposes. Overall the quality was find, and the product is probably ideal for other applications!

Top is thin, but warm lycra material, fits well under bike helmet. Face mask is neoprene outside, fleece inside. This is the weak part of the item in that the mask is a bit too large. There is a gap between the the material and my face/mouth, allowing moisture to form inside the mask from exhaled air. The neck gaiter is thick fleece and works very well. All in all, this does the intended job, but would work better if the face mask portion was smaller or if there was an adjustment strap to pull it tight against my mouth.

this is the best facemask ive ever tried and im canadian. i wore it to go skiing in -35, had it tucked up against googles, and it DID NOT FOG. amazing. i will say as a avg size female, i wish there were more sizes as this is definitely a loose. overall, this will be the only mask i ski in.

Looks and feels really good. It could be slightly bigger. Only complain is one size fit all. They should do it in more sizes
