Not the best backpack material
This backpack is really pretty. However, the material is plastic. The box that it arrived in was somewhat crushed and part of the backpack seems to be permanently wrinkled. The material also makes it hard for my daughter to use the zippers. She likes the look but has expressed that she wished it was softer and more stretchy like other backpacks.

Mermaid scales - too much added weight
My 6 year old LOVES the mermaid scales backpack. It's very durable, and a great quality backpack. However, in comparison to other wildkin backpacks we have, the added weight of the scales material makes a big difference on our day to day. We'd buy other wildkin backpacks and products for sure, but not the mermaid scales, unfortunately.
