Dream Sight: A Dictionary and Guide for Interpreting Any Dream

Detailed, useful dream interpretation
Terrific book. Dr. Lennox gives a high-level overview of dream theory according to various experts such as Freud and Jung. This book is focused, I would say, on Jungian theory and is one of the best I've seen. The first sections describe the theories, ways to help you capture your dreams if you think you don't dream (everyone does), and some useful keys to interpreting them.I bought another book about doing inner work by using Dr. Jung's theories and techniques (in fact, I believe the book was called "Inner Work") so that might be useful if someone wants extremely in-depth information about Jungian techniques to understand yourself better and perhaps live a fuller life; however, that's including info outside the scope of dream work.In my opinion, this book (Dream Sight) can't be beat in terms of explaining typical dream objects and how to determine how they apply to your life and your values. The book is 384 pages long and the "dream dictionary" (the dream symbols, their general ("universal landscape") meaning, and how they might apply to you) begins on page 85. So there's a LOT of info about the symbols and their psychological meanings.Sometimes it's difficult to find exactly what you're looking for with the index, which I think is dedicated purely to the dream dictionary terms. For example, I wanted to look up where he had covered archetypes and there was no glossary entry for that. HOWEVER - there was an entry in the table of contents. I do think that between the TOC and the index, you can find what you're looking for - but in terms of organization, I think a useful index always fully indexes all content in a book.

Learn how to listen to the Dream-making you!
I have been writing down my dreams for... well, a very, very long time. But nobody ever described such a clear practice of how to listen to the dream-making me. I read so many paragraphs and said "Wow! I have never thought of that." and then instantly came the second thought "But of course, how else could it be?"I devoured this book, knowing that I wouldn't absorb all the nuances and would have to return later. But that night, I followed Dr. Lennox's advice and left a pad and pen on my nightstand. Three times during the night I awoke and groggily wrote down a dream in the dark. The next morning as is my current habit, I wrote them into a dream journal. Thinking back on the book, I decided to try one of practices described in the book. I am used to the idea of practicing patiently so I was not expecting any profound revalations, but after maybe fifteen minutes of what the Doctor describes as "ruminating" I came to the most astonishing and completely new understanding of something I had been struggling with in my life for months. While not complete, and not necessarily "the answer", some up-to-now unheard part of me was asking new, powerful and revealing questions.I would say that I can't wait to go to bed and dream now, but that's not true. I want to go out to my life and insist on answers to the questions my dream-making self has asked. While not really "self-help" and not really pop-psychology, this is a very interesting and simple guide, with a set of practices that seem, at first try, to be quite powerful.

Best dream interpretation book
I've read so many dream interpretation books/manuals and this one is definitely the most comprehensive. The beginning part of the book guides us to understanding our dreams in general. The latter half lists a number of dream symbols and various interpretations. Very user friendly format. I would also add that each symbol is described in great depth. There is a really good amount of information in this book to effectively interpret most any dream.I keep this book next to my bed. I've been able to very effectively dissect many dreams by reading up on the symbolism, which Michael Lennox so accurately and eloquently describes for each one. I have gained much insight and awareness. I've also had a personal dream interpretation by the author and it was spot on. He really knows his stuff.

Worth It
It does help put some dreams in perspective. It was worth the money.

I was disappointed. Perhaps upon a second reading I will be ...
I purchased this book thinking that it would give me more practical/specific steps for interpreting dreams. However, either I was not able to understand the process of the writer, or the writer was not able to communicate the concept as clearly as had hoped. Whatever the case, I was disappointed. Perhaps upon a second reading I will be able to grasp his process better.

Good dream study book
I enjoy the philosophy behind this book, wish it had a few more symbols described but it does empower the reader to discern the symbolism of dreams even if it is not in the book, I would recommend to anyone interested in the meaning behind dreams.

Dream... come true?!
Really good book. Gave it to my girlfriend and read it in whenever I go over to her place. If you're interested in learning more about your dreams and you don't want to go to a psychologist, this is a good alternative.

Good book for understanding dreams ...
This book is a great resource for understanding your dreams and the unconscious realm. The author, Dr. Michael Lennox really has the years of experience and the knack to explain these things. It has been of a great help to me already.
