If you want to walk around and go live to a channel like ustream or your own RTMP address it's perfect. I used a mi-fi card from Verizon to add internet to my pocket for the mobile connection. When connected to cat 5 cable DSL the unit is strong good picture. Fact is its a streaming device that can take the laptop out of the setup! It has a really fun dashboard that you can do many things to your stream like overlays and messages. I really like the pause feature where it holds your connection & blacks out the screen but keeps up the "LIVE" icon or message up til you hit start again. You can remote start and stop from the dashboard or the unit- never seen that before - way cool!
