I bought it thinking it gentle. Weeks later I developed sores on the corners of my mouth and tongue and lips were swollen and sore, and mouth would go dry instantly. Saw PCP, urgent care doc, oral surgeon, and otolaryngologist One thought it was thrush and I took antibiotics. None of 4 doctors asked about toothpaste. Finally, I experimented with changes. I tried changing toothpaste, and was better quickly. Then I discovered a few other reviewers had similar reactions, which are seemingly rare . BE ALERT: Doctors don't know about this problem and won't even ask about your toothpaste. Stop using it immediately if your lips or mouth develop problems.

After just 1 day of using this toothpaste I woke up with a swollen lower lip, sores inside my mouth, and a sore tongue. Thinking it was caused by something I ate, I took some Benadryl which helped the swelling. It feels as if my taste buds are burned and after a week of not using this toothpaste my tongue still feels sore! Every time I eat anything with a bit of spice or acidity, my tongue feels like it's on fire! Do not risk using this toothpaste!

I have a hard time with a lot of toothpastes because I don't like the little balls in them, I don't like intense flavor, and I have a hard time trusting that the toothpastes aren't going to affect my teeth negatively. Arm and Hammer does a great job with a lot of their toothpastes being baking soda and peroxide, the old school way. The flavor isn't overpowering, and it doesn't have any of those little beads in them.

I was unsure about this product at first. Toothpaste has a definite "baking soda" taste and feel to it. Having said that, I don't mind it. Thought I would be "missing" the minty flavor which I don't. Another plus for me, I don't get that strange (gross) film that seems to form after brushing with some of the other major brands. That is a HUGE plus.
