Baxter of California Cream Pomade for Men | Natural Finish | Light Hold | Hair Pomade

This cream pomade is excellent. It provides a nice, natural hold without feeling heavy or greasy, and it’s easy to work through the hair. A little goes a long way, it washes out easily, and it leaves hair looking styled but still natural. The subtle scent is a bonus. Definitely a high-quality product and one I’ll keep using.

this is really easy to apply because of the creamy texture unlike some other very stiff, waxy clays and pomades. It smells great and holds well. very happy to replace my old pomade with this

I’ve been using this Baxter of California Pomade for years, ever since my hair stylist recommended it, and it’s truly the best I’ve come across! It gives me a great hold without being too stiff or greasy, and it keeps my hair in place all day while still looking super natural. It’s perfect for creating a polished look without that heavy, slicked-back effect some other pomades give. What I love most is how easy it is to wash off—unlike other products that take forever to rinse out, this one comes off cleanly without any buildup. Nice hold. Natural matte finish. Lightly fragrances. Easy to comb through or apply tasseled look with fingers. I wear a four buzzer tapered in the sides and longer on the top - can be used for clean part and finish for work or “messy” / tasseled look with fingers. Does darken hair. No shine. And it’s easy to apply “too much”. Less is more. Nice glass case - adds to longevity of product.

This pomade is seriously good stuff. Easy to style as you only need a little bit and it holds well yet does not give the spiky look other products will give you; this is best of both worlds. This is exactly what I was looking for, as its not overly obvious that I have product in my hair, but it holds! The scent is also a mild lemon scent, I hate pomades, particularly a very popular one (you can guess which one), that has a awful overpowering smell, like a cheap cologne. I have a mid-skin fade with the top of my hair slightly longer in a sort of faux hawk style (tho i hate the term). I only use a little bit of this stuff, like a tiny scoop with my finger, and its so easy to style my hair. Other products I needed to use more otherwise it looks as if my hair didnt even move. It holds all day, one day I was even outside for 10-20 minutes during noontime with a moderate amount of wind, and my hair still held up past 8pm. I didn't even need to use a bit of water to re-style once I was back indoors. I have done this at night, and while it doesn't make it look completely new, I think for the small amount I use in the morning, this does the trick pretty well and i dont need to re-apply. I was worried that the amount you get is too little, but like I said, you only need a tiny amount, like not even a dime shape, about half of it.

I've always had thin/fine hair and have always used hairspray to add some volume and keep it in place., however, after trying this cream pomade, I'm never going back. The pomade gives me a little volume, a light hold, and leaves my hair looking more natural and healthy than hairspray ever did. I'm still trying to figure out how to apply it just right. I've tried putting the cream on my hands and running it through my hair but I didn't care for that look. I found that the best solution for me is to let my hair naturally fall in a style that I like, rub some of the cream in my hands, then sort of run my hands over the surface of my hair. I then use the hair dryer to harden the hold and provide some extra body. It's not an inexpensive product but I imagine that this will last me a few months, and I'm okay with that. There's a very subtle scent to it but it's not off-putting, it smells natural. Overall, I love this product and have been recommending it to all of my friends with thinner-than-normal hair.

Ouai is a product designed for women, and is a mousse. All of these comparisons were done on completely dry hair, shampooing and conditioning after each attempt. 1 - Baxter 2 - Baxter with small dab 3 - Baxter with small dab applied to hair 4 - Baxter with huge dab 5 - Baxter with huge dab applied to hair 6 - BBA 7 - BBA with small dab 8 - BBA with small dab applied to hair 9 - BBA after using Kenra Finishing Spray #26 to prevent the hair from moving when I toss my hair (note: it failed) 10 - Ouai 11 - Ouai with small dab 12 - Ouai with small dab applied to hair 13 - Ouai after using Kenra Finishing Spray #26 to prevent the hair from moving when I toss my hair (note: it succeeded) 14 - Kenra Finishing Spray #26 CONCLUSION Baxter fails miserably at doing what it advertises itself as: a natural finish. As you can see in the pictures, my hair was greasy as heck.
