In case these reviews get aggregated, this review is for the Koomus Pro Magnetic Dashboard Smartphone Car Mount, which is listed as "Koomus Pro Dashboard-M Universal Magnetic Cradle-less Smartphone Car Mount for all iPhone and Android Devices".I have a larger phone, a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with an OtterBox Defender. I simply slipped the steel plate between the two layers of the case, and my phone holds to the mount as solid as I'd want - any firmer, and it would be difficult to remove. The surface has a thick rubber block with a similar texture as the wrap on the OtterBox, so my phone doesn't move around or rotate much unless I want it to.The base on the mount is gel-backed and extremely sticky, so the suction cup will work on most surfaces, not only ones you'd expect for a suction cup - I have it mounted on a vertical panel on my desk right now, so my phone is at eye-level as it charges. (You can wash the gel pad to renew the stickiness if you need to when you move it.) But for those uneven or curved surfaces that won't work with the suction base, they also included an adhesive disk, so those are covered as well (though I might recommend a weighted "bean bag"-type base in those cases). The mount came with two steel plates, so I can use one with another device too - I can stick the plate to a GPS and reduce the number of mounts in the car.And not all devices will even need the steel plates. I have a smartwatch (a Pebble Time), and I can hang my watch from the mount as it charges, so it's far more readable than if it were lying on my desk. I'm strongly debating whether to get an extra mount just for the watch, so I can hang both my phone and watch for when I need to charge both at the same time.And as a bonus (from my perspective), it's made in Korea, which almost always means better construction quality and longer life than products made in China. No offense intended to Amazon customers in China.

I've never written a review before good or bad. Koomus products are awesome! I had a Kenu air vent cell phone holder. It was okay at best until one and then two of the rubber pieces on the prongs that keeps it slipping out of the air vent came off making the holder useless. Then I tried the Koomus air vent holder and it worked perfectly. It has a different designed piece to keep it securely into the air vent and won't move until I decide to pull it out of the vent. Best damn vent mount I've ever used.Now I drive for Lyft and have to constantly take my phone out of the cradle and then put it back in. So I took a look at the Koomus Pro Dashboard-M Universal Magnetic mount. This is what I had wanted all along. It is awesome. It is everything that Koomus says it is. If you read the instructions, the mount will be fitted to your dashboard or windshield like it's supposed to. The magnet (it comes with 2 although you'll really only need one) holds the phone in place and won't move until you're ready to take it off the holder. Then it just comes off easily with one hand. It's so much easier than having to use both hands to spread apart the spring loaded holders and remove your phone from the mount.Here is the best part that truly makes this product so great. I moved to Las Vegas the first week of July 2016. It truly is hotter than hell here with temps in the high 90's and into the 100's nearly every day. I've had several dash mounts in the past and somehow they've always managed to lose contact with the dash and fall off with my expensive phone still attached to it. This Koomus mount hasn't yet shown any signs of starting to lose it's grip on the dash even with the excessive heat. I drive at ease knowing that my phone will stay where I put it for the duration of my drive.

I put this on my car's flat dashboard a little over two weeks ago and loved it! Since that time, I've really only used it to hold my phone maybe three times. Suddenly just the other day, the magnetic part fell off of its base. I stuck it back on (the bottom is very sticky). It pretty much immediately fell off again. The weather wasn't extreme nor have I tugged on it a lot because I've barely used it so I can't imagine any reason for it to come off when it was so stable for the first two weeks on my dashboard. Basically it is useless now. I was waiting to review this until I had used it a bit and I'm glad I did because now I know it won't work. I wonder how many other positive reviews that I used to make my decision to purchase this model were done after using it for awhile. So disappointed!

I own the  Koomus Pro CD-M Universal CD Slot Magnetic Cradle-less Smartphone Car Mount Holder for all iPhone and Android Devices . I like it but it tends to rattle a little which can sometimes be an annoyance. I decided to try another of their products and opted for this.Again, I like it but it has its issues. The gel pad works on suction. But if you try to move it around to find a good spot you'll find that it doesn't always want to stay seated. I blame this on my mildly dusty dashboard, though. After giving the gel pad a brief wash with dish soap and an air dry I wiped down the spot on my dash where I wanted to mount it and it stuck right away.The big problem I have, though, is the magnetic pad. It is attached to an arm on the base and is able to swivel around for the best positioning. The issue is that both the arm and the magnet tend to sag. After a (short) while, I find I have to re-position both the arm and the pad in order to keep my phone elevated. A but more snugness between the arm and the base and the pad and the arm would fix this.

This is a really great product. My first experience with this company's products was when I bought the other magnetic model that inserts into the CD slot for my F-350. That model wouldn't work in my Expedition as there wasn't clearance with the dash so I tried this model that suctions onto the dash and it really works well. I was a bit skeptical at first because I've tried other suction devices and they were all crap, falling off whenever you hit a bump. But based on my experience with this company's products in my truck I thought I would give it a try and I'm glad I did. It comes with a plastic disc that adheres to the dash and then you suction down the bracket onto that disc. Very simple to install and it works great. The magnetic attaching is genius. So simple and it holds the phone really, really well but it's still easy to pull the phone off the holder. Really great product. Would absolutely recommend it 100%.

I’ve tried several holder magnets for my car, and none of them were strong enough to hold my iPhone 7 Plus every time felts from the base until I got this product, the other magnet kits in order to hold I need it to stick the metal plate behind the case but with this one I just place the place inside of the case, I’m really happy with this, however i had to buy a spare 3m sticker plastic disk to be able to fix it on my dashboard the disc that this item brought didn’t have adhesive so it fell quite often from the dashboard, after I replace that for 2cad It’s the best item that you can get if you want a strong magnet hold

This mount works great with my Nexus 6P. It sticks to my textured dash like glue. The magnet is plenty strong enough to hold my phone with case in either portrait or landscape orientation. It seems very solid and it's a relatively small size. A perfect 5-star product for me.I bought it with my own money and nobody gave me anything to write this review. I'm just a regular consumer writing about a good product.
