LAYLAHologram Effect Nail Polish (#02 Coral Glam)

I love that this is such a bold blue (my other blue holos are a little more silvery-blue in color). The holo effect is strong and linear, which I absolutely love. Not a lot of the red shows up in the holo rainbow for me, but it's still beautiful.Layla recommends wearing this over buffed nails. I prefer to avoid buffing because I have very thin nails, so I tried applying it over my Nfu Oh AquaBase. It applied smoothly and was opaque in one coat, although I applied two for good measure. :)

Using it as a solid color required mmy layers. Initially the hologram effect was cool but the polish didn't last long on my nails. I didn't care for this color by itself but like it as an accent color. Compared to other holographic colors i don't think it's worth the price. The blue/purple photo uses Layla hologram as a stamp color. Base color is yesurprise temperature changing gel polish #11. Stamp plate was #26 Pueen Love Elements.

Argh! I was hoping everyone else was crazy when they said it chipped easily. I'm happy with it otherwise.There are a couple things I saw in other reviews that I want to address based on my experience:- No nail prepping routine or base coat required to see the holographic color- Looks best in sunlight, but still visible in artificial lighting- When used with Seche Vite top coat (which is the best top coat on this earth), holographic look is maintained but chipping STILL happened within 24 hours! (And if you know Seche Vite, you know even Wet 'n Wild does not chip for days with their top coat)Maybe if you use a base coat you'll have more luck with the chipping, but if you ask me, ain't nobody got time for that.

I originally found this possible three+ years ago in Ulta and it was on sale for $8, but I was still biting my nails at the time, so I saw no point in purchasing the product. Since then, I have stopped biting my nails and I regularly get my nails done, but I tend to bring my own polish to the salon with me. I bought this color and the Flash Black color and decided to go with Mercury Twilight in the end. The ladies from the salon (who know me by name from being in their so often) and they love the colors and the look so much that they are considering stocking the nail polish in their salon.It does take a few coats for it to have the color more pronounced, but I have had no problem with streaking or chipping, so I think this polish was a success. Everyone who has seen it has liked it so far, so I will definitely be ordering this product again.

This product was such a disappointment. I've been searching for the perfect holo polish for awhile. I ignored the bad reviews, and thought this would be it. Boy was I wrong. I didn't realize this is such a high maintenance product, so I did my manicure as always: light buffing, push back cuticles, and 2 coats of my HG Revlon Colorstay base coat. I'm busy, I don't have time to spend an hour and a half doing my nails, and I can't do them every other day. With my base coat, I can usually get 5-7 days before I get chips, regardless of the top coat I use.I applied three coats of this polish, and it was STILL streaky; the layers also took FOREVER to dry, and were still so goopy that I ended up ruining a nail. Apparently you have to buff your nail a lot and use no base coat to avoid the streaks, but my nails are fairly thin and actually hurt if I overbuff. Additionally, this polish chipped on day 2, despite my basecoat! I can't imagine it lasting long without one... Also, say goodbye to your topcoat, it pretty much erases the holo effect unless you're in really bright lighting.If you want a great holo that you can use a base coat and top coat with, that will last a week with revlon CS base coat, that isn't horrendously streaky, and is HALF the price of this, try Color Club Harp On It.

Its a bit runny and takes several coats to make opaque. It can be streaky as well. If you manage to get a nice few layers down without it streaking and looking patchy it has a nice halo effect. I would definitely say this is NOT the best halo polish I've used and would not purchase anymore from this brand. Color Club has amazing holographic polishes that blow this one out of the water! Plus these are really expensive, I was not impressed.

Everyone always raves about these polishes, so I decided to spring for a bottle and see what the fuss was about. It was easy to apply and the colors are very pretty in the sun or under bright lighting. But as others have said, it's a little fragile without a top coat (easy to chip), and using a top coat dulls the holo effect. After using it a few times, I'm still not convinced it's worth the premium price most stores charge for it. I think it's a fun specialty item, but I won't be going out and stocking up on the other colors any time soon.

To begin, this polish arrived two days before the first estimated delivery date. Amazing delivery time!The color of this polish is absolutely stunning. I ordered "Ocean Rush". It's a beautiful blue and it delivers true linear rainbows just like described. I was underwhelmed at first because I was viewing the painted nail in low light, but once I shined a flashlight on this gorgeous color it game to life and was completely dazzling! Under sunlight it is really breathtaking. I think I will be trying to other colors soon!

OMG I absolutely love this. I have 3 colours so far but this one is definitely the best (Flash Black) in my opinion. I use a dark base colour and then usually one coat of this is enough to give a fabulous sparkling rainbow finish with real depth under the lights. It dries quickly so you can do a second coat if needed, but I usually find one coat and maybe a top gloss coat is more than enough. I have had so many comments on my nails with this colour on. Whilst the Mercury Twilight drags and leaves lines and marks (I haven't yet mastered the art of this one), and the Coffee Love is not as dazzling (nice colour though), the Flash Black gets 20/10 for me. I find myself being mesmerised by the effect at times!

It’s a thin polish so each coat was dry in under one minute, the downside to this is that I needed three layers of polish to achieve a full opacity. I usually order my holo nail polishes from a specialised brand over in America which can be very costly. Now I have a cheaper alternative for any holo emergency! One very happy customer

I used this along with the Layla hologram effect nail buffer, and it worked well. The varnish is very thin, so needs 4 or more coats, but as it's so thin it dries very quickly, so I pretty much did one hand, then the other, then straight back to the first for the next coat. The hologram effect needs light, and day light is the most effective, but it is very good when the light catches the polish.I haven't used a top coat on it as I'm not sure if it'll work with the hologram effect, so the varnish did start to chip the next day, but not badly.Good product, especially for a specific occasion of if you don't mind little repairs.

Goes on well and dries quickly but by the next day it had rubbed off. I have never experienced that before. Very thin and absolutely no hologram effect.

At first, I was extremely excited to receive this nail polish. I have seen people wear holographic nail polish and absolutely loved how it looked. I also love the colour that it was in "06 MERMAID SPELL". Firstly, this was a more expensive nail polish than I would usually buy but I thought this would reflect in the quality - it did not. The nail polish is not a nail colour and requires a different colour of nail polish beneath it. However, when I applied the holographic nail polish on top of my base nail colour, (despite the nail polish being completely dry) it removed all of my nail colour. I am very disappointed in this product as I was very excited to use it and it was rather expensive.
