Activator RX-9 Infrasonic Home Security Alarm, Silver

I had high hopes for this product. After listening and viewing the nicely produced DVD, and reading over the directions I thought this was going to be a No Brainer!I was wrong.The only part of this Activator that seems to work is when you plug in a light ,arm the alarm and leave. You can adjust the sensitivity levels with a tiny dial.To really make this Activator effective, it comes with a very loud separate alarm to plug into a central location. This part of the 2 piece Activator simply does not work. There is only one switch on the side of this loud alarm which enables the user to set the alarm for 0 seconds,or 30 seconds. There is no reset button and whenever I plug this into the wall it goes off constantly creating more false alarms as in many headaches this has caused me.I have tried patiently for 2 days to adjust it and a play with it,but has caused me nothing but grief!

In addition to extremely poor documentation, the device is very difficult to calibrate so that either false alarms or no alarms do not occur. The DVD provided for "support" is unintentionally funny but really useless, and their is no mention of the mysterious alarm module or how to disable it. The blue "button" on the smaller alarm module appears to be ornamental... pressing it results in nothing, it does not depress and it seems the only way to stop the alarm is to unplug the alarm module from the larger sensor. Very odd, eccentric product design with an electric blue accent color that blends in with nothing... and stands out like a sore thumb.

I have problems getting the thing to work, every time I leav my home I have to unplug the unit, then plug it back in and get out other wize it will start going off then I'll have to go in unplug the unit and plug it back in and run like hell and close the door so it wont go off again. Maybe i'm doing something wrong but their is no number to call if someone has questions. I dont use the alarm anymore. Just use the thing for a turn the light on when I come home.I also bought one for my daughter but have the same problem with that one.

I recommend - simple and effective... I am pleasantly surprised and considering the cost - I may buy another for my car.

Loud and impressive technology! Vibration can trigger the alarm. Sometimes false alarm, unfortunately. But, overall, still a great product.

This home alarm is a very good product! It makes your whole home feel more secure by just plugging it in to a wall socket! Very sensitive to any door opening or window! Great price!
