Leslie Dame Solid Oak Mission Style Multimedia Storage Cabinet with Library Card Catalog Style Doors, Oak

This is the Goldilocks of media cabinets, not too big, not too small, just big enough for the average person’s music and DVD collection. It’s made of oak, has a nice finish, and it’s not too heavy to slide around on a moving blanket when it’s empty, maybe 65 lbs.This is the perfect “I’m not-a-braggart” cabinet. You would be hard-pressed to know it was a storage cabinet unless someone showed you. The cabinet is stated to hold 612 CDs and keeps everything out of sight until you swing open the two doors. I’ve placed a small lamp on mine and it looks right at home.While this one has a library card catalog motif on the face of the cabinets, Leslie Dame makes other cabinet choices with other finishes available. The wooden shelves inside are robust, about 1/2 thick, and can be repositioned in the cabinet using a shelf-and-peg arrangement.The only drawback I have found with this cabinet is the capacity, which may not be a problem for you. After 7 years, my music collection has outgrown the 612 CD capacity. Sure, I looked around to see what other media storage was out there, but I liked my first Leslie Dame cabinet so much, I decided to purchase another one through Amazon.While the world is moving away from physical CDs and DVDs, my inner archivist won’t let me give them up. Seems like media storage may also be going the way of the CD too. So, if you’re thinking of making the purchase, just do it, you won’t be disappointed!

The library style cabinet arrived when promised. Minimum assembly was required. The cabinet is attractive, wood finish and hardware are done well. The reveals (grooves) to simulate library drawers could be a fraction deeper as they do not show up as well as they might. Be sure to place on level floor as the doors will not align cleanly if the cabinet is skewed. For the price the cabinet met my expectations and is a welcome addition to my living room.

This item arrived quickly, that’s the good news. The bad news is that we are very disappointed. One of the shelves was damaged. Contacted seller, they responded quickly requesting pic of damage. I replied promptly with pic....crickets...nothing back from seller. Upon further inspection, as in putting shelves in place etc we noticed more damage and overall substandard quality. The magnets to hold doors closed, misaligned and too weak to function. Shelf pegs broken off to render placement of shelf at that level impossible. Hinges not evenly spaced. Overall really disappointing. Will have to do some repair, purchase better magnetic closures and drill out peg holes. Things that one shouldn’t have to do when purchasing something “new”.....which we now believe this item is not. Can not recommend this product due to quality issues and lack of seller support. Buyer Beware

I bought this as a gift for my fiance's birthday. I read all of the reviews and took them all into consideration before buying this so I knew what I may or may not be getting into. We were looking for something unique and interesting so I took the chance.Firstly, it is a very good looking unit, the wood is NOT dark walnut it is more reddish but I wouldn't call it cherry.Secondly, the only thing you need to put together is the shelves on the INSIDE that hold the movies. Just as others complained one of ours was broken but it was an easy fix if you don't use the parts they give you, instead you would need to use your own screws.And last but not least, this is a smaller shelving unit than you would expect. The dimentions are very clear it is not tall and it is not very wide. It fit the space we needed it for and it has the look we wanted, there is a similar version out there that was exactly the right color and had drawers like an apothicary table but we wanted this one because of the open cabinent style. Was it worth the money? yes and no. It is sturdy and holds a lot of video's and it has the look that fit our house, it could have been made better without the broken shelves and it could be the color pictured but you get what you get when you take chances on line.
