Reliable
I bought one of these years ago for winter flooding and it worked perfectly until I messed it up. So I replaced it with the exact same item. If some works good stick with it and don't let it eat rocks like I did the first one

used in a 5gal bucket in oregon
Just a heads up folks, this will air lock so drill the weep hole. I was able to air lock my pump and didnt have a weep hole. I love how quiet the pump is. I have had it in a since March 2024. so only a few months of rain but it works well. i zip tied the float to the handle so it would be auto-magical in a 5gal bucket. I also ziptied the float to the side of a the bucket through a hole and that worked as well. In case any is trying to be cheap or this "the way it was" in your location. I would say grab a wayne if you want reliable and better built but this is my backup. Just thought i would pass on my weep hole and zip solution(s) to those that are interested. *Update 11/2024 pump starting to fail. Didn’t last very long. Pay for a reliable one

Good inexpensive pump that really moves water.
For the price, these are good pumps. They won't last in continuous duty for weeks at a time, this is my 2nd one because the first one started making loud noises so I assume bearings are going out, but the float switch is reliable, and they can pump a lot of water. A note to say you need to add a check valve to prevent back flow after it shuts off and you need to tilt them on their side to get the pump chamber filled with water before they pump as the inlet on the bottom is like putting a cup upside down in the water, the air can't escape. This doesn't seem to be a problem if it runs out of water while pumping and when water rises again it seems to pump fine, just after the dry pump is placed in the water. Maybe a small bleed hole drilled in the side might help. I have mine pushing water from a sump uphill 6' through 50' of 1 1/2" corrugated hose and it works well. I also use 2" vinyl swimming pool hose and pump water 150'

It Now Supports a Garden Hose!!
I just received my unit today 14 July 2023. It now comes with a 3rd adapter (the listing only shows 2) and this 3rd adapter has a 3/4" hose thread. So anyone who buys a unit now will be able to use a garden hose. I personally will use a 1 1/2" pool flexible hose but for those who need it the option is there. I am giving it a tentative 5* rating for this upgrade even though I haven't unboxed it yet. I will modify later if I run into any issues. I wanted to get the news out quickly. Please see photos for details. Update 7/23/23: This item was missing the nylon cord that is supposed to be in the box to lift it out f the water - in my case a 12' pool. I know I can go and buy some cord but lowering the rating due to a quality control issue that is annoying. Update 11/26/23: I upgraded the rating after using it. Still annoyed that I had to spend an extra $10 buying the cord to lower it in the pool, but it worked great. I bought it to empty an 18000 gallon pool with a 10' deep end and it emptied it in 9 hours for an average of about 2000gph. That may seem low compared to its rating but it had to pump the water up about 10' and I used 150' of flexible hose that went around bends and corners. So given the pressure drop and the length I thought this was pretty good. It is on sale today for about $12 less than I paid. I think this is great value if it looks suitable for your use case.

Don't expect it to last
Worked well for about a year. Now it just hums but refuses to spin the fan at the bottom that should be propelling the water out of the house. Spend your money elsewhere.

Quick delivery, quick setup and quick pump........
Only had one use so far, but my old pump died after a decade of use so had to purchase this one. It arrived in one day and because of low cost, I had doubts. Plopped it on top of swimming pool (NY) so bunch of water from snow and ice, and it kicked right on and pumped it all off. Very easy and pumped fast. Worked really well and did the job. We will see about longevity but even if only last a few seasons for the cost it would be worth it.

solid product
I've had this for 2 years now and used it as my primary sump pump. Getting the float set right was a bit of a pain, but I know I'm not using it exactly for what it is designed for. It has had to run well beyond what it was designed for. While I've had issues once or twice with it, that had more to do with not putting a screen on the bottom and letting it pull dirt/rocks/etc into it and caused my own headaches. I've recently had issues where it starts up slow as well, but cycle it 2 or 3 times and then starts working fine again. Probably just need to pull it apart and clean the inlet! Well worth it for me and would buy again if I needed another one.
