Usually you'll only see the Upholstery product at hardware and department stores (make sure you get the correct version of the product for your needs!) We have very light carpet, kids, cats that throw up, and a dog who gets really dirty feet, so I use it every time I clean our carpets. I have high traffic areas that kept getting stains every few weeks or months (depending on the season) with ScotchGard Carpet Protector they have now gone over a year without getting any stains. You have to make sure you apply it heavily and then manually work it into the fibers of the carpet and let it fully dry for the best results. Don't think you can just lightly spray it and have the same durability. The time is worth the effort because you won't have to clean stains again for a long time. A previous post mentioned that the current seller costs too much for shipping, but the alternative sellers all had higher shipping costs when I looked. I bought in bulk to reduce the overall percentage of the shipping costs, plus if you have a lot of carpet area, you need a lot of ScotchGard. The seller shipped the product quickly and it was well packaged to prevent accidental discharge. Pros: - Awesome carpet protection Cons: - Hard to find at local stores - You need a lot of it. (Saturate the carpet area and give it time to fully dry before you allow anyone to walk on it (I use painters floor covers to give it a day of drying time (its worth the hassle because it protects your carpet for so much longer than the lightly coated spray jobs done by some professional cleaning companies. I had to redo the cleaning and protection done by the last company we used because stains came back after they did their work). Review: Deal - Can’t go without it ## Features - Keeps whole carpet and problem areas cleaner longer - Resists soil - Carpet vacuums cleaner ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00006IA93 | | Best Sellers Rank | #275,908 in Health & Household ( See Top 100 in Health & Household ) #23 in Household Carpet Stain Precleaners | | Brand | Scotchgard | | Brand Name | Scotchgard | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,324 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00021200570285, 00638060661949 | | Included Components | Carpet Knife | | Item Form | Spray | | Item Type Name | Scotchgard Rug & Carpet Protector, 1 Can, 14-Ounce | | Item Volume | 400 ml | | Item Weight | 13.92 ounces | | Manufacturer | 3M CHIMD | | Material Feature | Stain remover | | Material Features | Stain remover | | Model Number | 1023H | | Number of Items | 1 | | Part Number | 1023H | | Recommended Uses For Product | Dog_toy | | Scent | Fresh,Wood | | Size | 1 Count (Pack of 1) | | Special Features | Residue Free | | Specific Uses For Product | Floors,Carpet,Cabinets,Rug | | Surface Recommendation | Carpet | | UPC | 638060661949 885655368404 885408876507 021200570285 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | Warranty. | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Scotchgard - **Item Form:** Spray - **Material Feature:** Stain remover - **Scent:** Fresh,Wood - **Specific Uses For Product:** Floors,Carpet,Cabinets,Rug ## Images ![1023H Rug & Carpet Protector, 1 Can, 14-Ounce, Clear - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71uAb2GaPOL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: I bought a 17 oz can in Sept 2019 for $6.99 why is it $15.99 for a 14 oz can?** A: This is because this is a different product then the $6.99 product. If you pay close attention to the can this product specified on the can that it repels water. Which means the water beads up on top of the carpet and does not soak up. The $6.99 can does not repel it merely lifts stains to make them easier to remove. And this particular can cannot be bought in stores. The $6.99 can is. **Q: What area will this cover** A: I applied two passes over a 10x12' area carpet with a single can. **Q: Is this good to use on a velvet bench?** A: Hello! Thanks for asking. We do not have a Scotchgard(TM) product that we recommend using on velvet fabric or upholstery. You may want to check with the manufacturer of the velvet bench for care and protection suggestions. It seems to do an okay job at making the rug easier to clean day-to-day and keeping the white a bit whiter, but I think I may have to reapply soon and it's only been a month or so. ## Frequently Bought Together - Scotchgard 1023H Rug & Carpet Protector, 1 Can, 14-Ounce, Clear - Scotchgard Fabric Water Shield, 13.5 Ounces, Repels Water, Ideal for Couches, Pillows, Furniture, Shoes and More, Long Lasting Protection - Scotchgard Rug & Carpet Cleaner, Fabric Cleaner Blocks Stains, Cleaning Sprays Make Cleanup Easier, 14 oz --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.lk/products/2204255-1023h-rug-and-carpet-protector-1-can-14-ounce-clear](https://www.desertcart.lk/products/2204255-1023h-rug-and-carpet-protector-1-can-14-ounce-clear) --- *Product available on Desertcart Sri Lanka* *Store origin: LK* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
